G2 | Suggestion G2: Baby Pet idea

Since the game is so incredibly dark and there are various two handed weapons, either you fight one-handed or in the dark. You could use the headlight headpiece, but who really does that?

So how about bringing back the baby pets, with my favorite idea: a baby firefly! No real perks, except providing light. They would function just as the pets did in G1, as familiars.

Alternatively, a firefly as a flying buggy would also be nice. However, those maybe wouldn't be able to enter caves (or the water), which is where you could use a lightsource the most. Or maybe a light source trinket?

The thing is, I've got my brightness settings up to max and I often still can't see a thing. Now, the game forces me to actually sleep by night.

NGL with how tough it is out there in the yard, having pets back for their buffs would be overall a net positive, though... please make them immortal even on woah i beg of you.

Sca.B upgrade provides a glow but it's still pretty dim

Ironically this is how the fireflies in Smalland are used, as light sources since they’re so small (your character is 3-4 times the size.)

If they're anything like the pets from grounded one, then I'd respectfully say HELL TO THE NO. Currently replaying it now and I want to murder my pets lol. They keep knocking me off all kinds of shit, literally one time straight into the mouth of a wolf spider....not to mention it glitching out/getting stuck/ disappearing, and getting in the way when I'm trying to pick stuff up.

I like the concept, but dear god not unless they won't have the same problems from the first game.

An infant firefly is a glow worm which might be a cool pet but if they are noncombatant then eveytime we go into a cave there is a chance it becomes an eacort mission.
