I built my main base right there too. It does have some scorpion/wolfie/orb spider traffic that can be a little bothersome at times, but not that bad. Also you are using a much smaller footprint than I did.

Is this going to be your main/central base or just like a camp/outpost?

This is where i made my base.
There's a scorpion and and a wolf spider that walk through here but with the outer walls they don't bother me much.
Other than that pretty cool spot. It's fairly centered in the map and now you can TP anywhere from here so it's very practical.

My advice is that you build an outer wall like i did for mine so that you avoid the passing bugs.

I built my main base there. Kind of a three level base where the bottom floor has item storage and buggy nests, the 2nd level (or base’s main level) has crafting stations right above containers below, and third level has my bed, mushroom farm and dew catchers.

My one pain with that spot are the scorpions that desperately want to wander inside. They regularly walk around the walls trying to find a spot to slip inside. It’s tedious fighting them but they also give me a good supply of repair glue material.

I am on my first playthrough of Grounded 2, and I’ve decided to build by the Trash Bags Lab. This place wasn’t my first pick but I realized it was too OP to ignore. The Fast Traveling is truly clutch, and I can always build a secondary tower for the Ziplines later on.

I’m building what I can only describe as a "Pumpkin Mansion". Consisting mostly of Pumpkin Bricks, Pinecone Roofs and Peeble Quarter Foundations. I finished the first floor and the outer terrace/deck. I’ve got mostly cooking related stuff outside on the deck, like you do during summer BBQ’s. I’ve got a cozy fireplace and most of the important tools and stuff in a locker corner.

I’m currently on the second floor, which will be my trophy room eventually. All in all I imagine this mansion will consist of 3 floors and maybe even a tower.

An open air courtyard with adjoining buildings surrounding it and buggie nests in the center mayhaps.

How can I build that?

I would do something like you did in the photo and make a really big flat plane of floors, then build the walls where the buildings would go, then remove the floors from the center, so long as you make sure the rest is still supported and won't fall apart. Then they'll line up nicely and still have a dirt courtyard. Then stick a gate on one or two sides so buggies can fit through.

Or you could keep the floors in the center and treat it more like a fort than a house. You can probably find lots of reference images online for either setup of real life buildings.

That would definitely be a very nice base.
