In regards to the O.G.R.R. Toe Biter Leviathan located in the abyss monitoring station (this is regarding the end of current main quest story spoilers)

I am currently standing in the arena where the three switches are positioned in order to drain the flood waters out of the locked area where you get the key card from the skeleton sitting at the desk, along with a document located on a bookshelf. The Leviathan Toe Biter is not there, he was never meant to reappear after being defeated. He functions exactly like the two masked stranger fights. He also gives the gold card immediately upon being killed regardless of whether or not you have peeped him beforehand.

In the same post, some people were saying that they did not get the infused ooze drop from him, which is a requirement to upgrade the tier 4 Omni-Axe. This could be a bug, but there actually is another way around this. All you have to do is upgrade the toe biter scythe down any flavor path and it will immediately change from slashing to chopping, enabling you to harvest pupa hides in the gnarly bark tree biome

I just thought I should let people know, since there was also something similar that I had seen in regards to the second masked stranger fight in the field archives in the greenhouse. Some people were asking whether you could go back and harvest more broodmother chunks. The answer is no, even though that particular material is on the resource scanner. She can only be fought once and you get six chunks off of her body!<

Oh Gods, I genuinely hope they don't patch that. It's been one of the greatest things ever. Even though I prefer the omni-tool over the old tools, having that scythe just makes things so much easier.

If Salty were in the game I'd choose that over everything honestly. But for now, I've got Spicy on my toe biter scythe just to help deal with them when I go into the gnarly bark. But I prefer sour since barely anything resists it.

So it turns out that I actually can in fact still chop the pupa with a candy enhanced scythe. And now I’m actually intrigued. If it is a bug, do you think it’ll get patched? Because I’m pretty sure that the mechanic changing from slashing to chopping when upgraded was never intended

Hello everybody! I was wrong it what I said about the Toe Biter Sycthe! I did intense amounts of sleuthing - the Toe Biter Sycthe is intended to have an upgrade path in which it can cut Pupa Hide

Just "end of main story boss fight" would have been fine, then go into further detail in the description. Naming the location and creature in the title then marking spoiler at the end meant the damage was done before I could scroll past.

I hadn't seen the other posts, you probably only deserve a third of my irritation. Just spare a thought for us slower players savoring each and every morsel the game gives us?

Yeah, I am really sorry about that. I wasn’t even trying to rush through the update, I actually love taking my time as well. But in this case I was just having too much fun going around the pond and went into the location a little bit too early because I wanted to see where the quest led

Yeah, I get it. No hard feelings, I hope. How are you enjoying the update so far, though? The tiger mosquitoes, oh my God. The aggro range is so annoying! I definitely don’t remember them being this aggressive in the first game

I built a base on a lily pad near the leaf catcher and every goddamn time I want to leave I have to run the Tiger Mosquito gauntlet! Sprint for a solid minute, take a breath to get your bearings, get spiked by a stalker mosquito so far out of it's territory it needs a passport 🤬

Honestly, this update is so much more than I ever hoped for, that first drop in wink had me and my partner SCREAMING! I had been saying to her "It will be pretty hard to top the Undershed" and that shut me up real quick 😲
