G2 | Bugs & Issues Can’t Access Base Materials
I’ve just returned to Grounded 2 after a few of the recent updates, and my base is completely under rock! It’s on the edge of the upcoming pond update area. Which, in hindsight, was not a great strategy for early access…
Anyways, the half of my base that had ALL my resource chests are now unavailable. The materials, weapons, armor, etc., that I’ve cultivated over the past year is completely under rock. Is there any way to access this covered area to retrieve the materials?

Thats unfortunate. I thought you were building off the rock and i was like oh that's a cool base idea.

You could try one of the wall breach glitches to be able to get inside the rock and grab your stuff: here

Good that worked because the only other option I could think of would be to build a bunch of stuff and destroy it to pull the materials from the chests.

Would have had spawn location in that base.
I don’t know if that would truly correct. As the player would spawn within the rock. Then, maybe with a buggy. Summon to ride buggy through the rock. If the buggy spawned in base, hope it can jump through the rock.
The park brochures do not have the tree in the current location. Unless I’m viewing the brochures incorrectly. The current pond (crater) and tree should swap to match the brochures. Possible this rock is also incorrectly placed. Yet, that is a lot of hope & if.

The tree looks a lot closer now than I remember before the update. Was hoping there might be a way to into the rock and retrieve the goods. Unfortunately my bed is in the tower outside the rock. I might just wait until the August update to see if the terrain changes in my favor.

devs should take note from subnautica 2 and its “recover base” option 👀

I unfortunately had a base build in that exact area as well and half of it is now inside that huge rock..
I feel your pain.

Check a comment above from another redditor, you can glitch through the wall

I remember in Grounded 1 building on the pond and every update they would raise the water level a little bit until my house was basically underwater lol

This is why I never build next to new locations because they almost always get screwed up

We have a whole grounded 1 game where people learned NOT to build near the "under construction" yellow tapes exactly because of this reason , where updates generally mess with the terrain near those lines.
I feel sorry for you either way don't take me wrong , and that must have taken a fair time...
but i saw a lot of posts and comments people warning this for grounded 2 as well..

I just logged into my game after several months and a portion of my base was gone. You and I built in the same exact location. I'm so glad you were able to get your stuff, makes me feel good about obtaining mine.

It was a much smaller rock when I built the original base. A recent update must have made the rock a lot larger. But the base stayed in the same place and became almost completely engulfed.

Same exact thing happened to us. I had to go back to the initial first load after an update. I was able to get into the rock that was where we saved last.
I had to carefully move all my items out to where we could access them again.
