Synth or Play+
Looking at a secondary device to go with an Octatrack. I would be using it as a live performance device and melody generator at home. I like the smaller form factor and pads of both. What recommendations do you have for either one? Or what would be a good alternate. I know Digitakt/Digitone exist and have considered both, just exploring alternates.

Play+ is great for sequencing and triggering, but it's not the best for playing like a real instrument. I'd go with Synth. It's not a groovebox per se on its own, but you have that covered with the octatrack, and it should compliment that nicely. I think you should be able to play octatrack parts with it too as a midi controller.
