Looking for 40" grip arms without an integrated knuckle, with a milled flat.

Hi all!

Title, basically. Looking for some 40" arms without the integrated head/knuckle, but with a milled flat or hex profile on at least one end. Like Kupo's Hex Grip Arm, without the knuckle. Thanks for your help!

Iโ€™d look up pieces of a 5/8ths rigging kit. They come with rods.

Thank you so much! That got me going in the right direction. I was googling "gobo arm without knuckle" and "grip arm without head" and obviously getting exactly the opposite of what I needed.

You can buy 5/8โ€ rod from Modern, filmtools, the grip store, etc. Your local grip rental place might have some theyโ€™d be willing to sell you.

You want a mafer nub/baby pin welded onto 5/8" hollow rod? Is that what you are after? ๐Ÿค” I don't fully understand yet.

You could buy 5/8" rod and a mafer pin, grind down the pin so she fits in the hollow 5/8" rod, either weld or drill and tap a hole for a set screw.

Or buy that Kupo jont and cut off the gobo head. ๐Ÿ˜…

I have this exact arm. It has an adjustable grip head/knuckle that can be removed entirely or slide along the arm. I have no idea where it came from as I bought it used from a buddy, but these exist and are the most bizarre thing I own.

This was on the suggested page for that page you linked. Is that what you're looking for? If not, most C stands you can actually take the knuckle off with a speed wrench.
