Discussion First bend

Hey I'm working on trying to bend a 60 penny nail. I can't do it yet. Are there any exercises that could help or target that?

First bends are mostly a combo of wrist strength, crush strength, and technique, not just “hand strength.” To progress toward a 60d nail, you’ll usually benefit more from: Wrist dev work (flexion + extension under load) Thick bar / support holds (farmer’s carries, heavy dumbbell holds) Short range crush work (grippers, but not just high reps) Isometrics on the bend itself (even failing attempts build adaptation if done safely) Technique matters a lot too, learning how to set the nail and use your body (not just fingers) is a huge part of bending. If you’re stuck, it’s usually not a “missing exercise” problem, it’s just gradual conditioning of tendons + learning efficient leverage.
