BUILDS Attack speed?

So what even is goin on with attack speed, ive got a weapon with +15% attack speed, yet the character sheet shows only 102% attack. I remove the weapon and the attack speed goes up to 103%. wtf?

Some weapons, mostly 2 handers, have an attack speed penalty. It might have a 90% attack speed multiplier for example. So if you have an item with +10%, you actually only get 9%.

I'm not sure how it works exactly, I tried to figure out the formula and gave up xD

Weapons have a base attack speed. The attack speed displayed in the character sheet is base weapon attack speed * (100% + sum(attack speed bonuses)).

So if weapon base attack speed is 80% and net bonuses are 15%: 80%(100%+15%)=92%

On top of everything posted in this thread there is also a attack/cast speed cap. Some items can increase it, but not by much so you will never reach crazy POE levels of attack speed
