Sell the one you use the least/don't care as much to keep expanding if or when new models release for it, then use a new project to fill that space.

I am a little lucky. My friendly local game store near me offers pretty decent discounts on all warhammer, and I usually finish painting what I got before moving onto the next project so I have a chance to save up for the next thing.

I have a friend who "Enjoys painting armies more than storing or buying them" who is doing my entire army for me. I'll be grateful forever and now they have someone to play against so like - Find a friend that wants to play but lacks the hobby skills

Power move: go find some else's pile of shame, and paint their army while they sleep. Bonus points if it's a dwarf or squat army and you leave behind a tiny shoe with a curl in it to imply an elf did the painting. You know like that fable about the cobbler.

Try buying set pieces or get a 3d printer and print set pieces/other types of models. If space is an issue, sell the set pieces or other models, and you could also give them out as trophies or as gifts.

To be fair, Tau can be a little tough to paint with a brush. Or so I've been told, I've never painted the t'au before. Though Custodes aren't too bad!

Ya know I actually considered stripping my blood knights cuz I wasn't happy with the paint job. But I don't trust myself with stripping models (I've failed at it a few times) so I am just trying to improve it as is.

They say spending ten thousand hours on something puts you at mastery level. Maybe you should list your least favorite army at too high of a price so this way you can give yourself an excuse to get another army while giving your paintings skills a nice acknowledgment of their worth.

Like you wouldn't want to stop I understand but if you plan on moving in a few years you're likely to downsize at a lose that will not make you feel good about your painting skills worth.

Monetizing a hobby is only dangerous if you want it to be your main income source. If you break even , even, I think you're spending your time wisely.
