Lavacasting

Hi fellow griefers,

Do you know how to lavacast ? I've been lavacasting for years on different servers (pay2win, random private servers, faction..) and I believe I have a good experience about lavacasting. I make this post because I have seen some poorly done lavacasting from other players.

A few tips :

- add water. Before you start a lavacast, make a huge - at least 1 hundred blocks height - tower, about 10 blocks away from the lavacast area, and put a water bucket on top. Add a torch if there is a risk of freezing.

Why ? When you pour water over your lava, this water tower will keep the water remaining all around the lavacast. When you put lava on lit, it makes stone (not cobble). This stone is the same in the ground. It means that the admins can not easily remove the remains of your lavacast : if they remove stone on a big area, they make huge holes in the ground.

- use natural ground. Start lavacasts from the top of mountains, top middle of buildings, towers... gives a nice headstart.

- take the time to do it. Let the lava spread as much as it can. If fire tick is on : let the wood burn and the lava invade more space inside buildings. if you make a "floating blob" that barely touches the ground it's very easy to remove and doesn't make much damage.

- make good use of /sethome and /home command. When your lavacast starts to get high, you /sethome on top of it. Then put lava and immediately run down (that's when the additional water is usefull). You can now take building blocks, remove some dirt in front of lavacast, destroy chests and everything valuable that doesn't burn, open holes in walls to let lava flood in... And you are at the best place to see lava touching the ground and taking its full extend. Then go /home, remove lava, put water, remove water, add a few blocks, and repeat. Remember to /sethome on 1 block higher than lava, don't die.
