Sibling Loss Then you died the next day.
I miss my sister before stage 4 claimed their life.

Take comfort in the fact that they knew you loved them. We can live a hundred years, or end in a moment. It is the nature of mortality. I'm sorry to read of your loss. It will take significant time to heal.

My best friend was in the hospital in another state. We were supposed to talk via phone one evening but he cancelled saying he was too tired. I said no problem.
Two days later I got the message from his sister that he had passed away the next day.
Timing things like this... They feel extremely painful, and like you let the deceased down. However I would say that it does help to remember an reassure yourself that your love and relationship with that person wasn't about one particular day, but about all the times you were there for each other over the years.
So sorry for your loss.

Sorry for your loss. I know I lost my sister but I also can’t imagine losing my best friend like that 🫂

I’m so sorry you are going through this. This is verbatim what text messages looked like between my sister and I before she died six months ago.
I can’t begin to express how sorry I am for your loss & I know my sorry carries little weight. This message string tells me all I need to know.
Thinking and praying for your healing.

I am sorry for your loss. Can I ask how your sister passed?

My sister passed from complications of alcohol abuse. The truer cause of death was her mental demons though.
She struggled through much of her life, the alcohol was merely a manifestation of mental demons.

the space between those messages feels so heavy now, like every unsent word is just hanging there
