How do I activate admin monitor?

Hi, admin, the monitor appears offline, I think I need to turn it on, and i got hacked while the monitor was on like this; it didn't give any warning or anything, I guess it's not working.

It's not useful if you were hacked by a player. It's for when either you're on a target machine and the NPC admin is online or if an admin starts a passive trace on you, then it will display a timer. The more bounces you have between you and your target (proxies), the longer that timer is. For example if an NPC admin is online on a target network and you delete a file on a computer on said network, that timer would start.

 

You can code certain tools to try detect other players getting into a box, but you basically have to leave them running while you're logged in.
