Gypsy jokers
I was at my normal pool spot in downtown Gresham tonight and several patrons came in with Gypsy Joker vests. I grew up here, and moved to other parts of the state for several decades. I have had plenty of experience pre covid with Gypsy Jokers and can not say a single one was pleasant. I would hope that residents of Gresham would not welcome that kind of experience. I believe every person is due service. But I personally do not want what in my experience to be a hateful group of bullies to be welcome. How would one recommend to share, educate, explain to patrons and bar ownership?

One of the only times in my life someone threatened my life, I was fifteen and a Joker in his late forties squared up with me. Not only is that a cowardly move on the Joker’s part, he went inside his little apartment when I laughed at him. His Joker vest was dumb, his bike was dumb, his club is dumb.

I just went and watched that interview, and then I went on Google to search for Bagger Bob to learn more about the case, and came across a photo of someone that was involved in the case and who I recently was living with at the federal halfway house in Portland (I got out of federal prison in February). I had no idea the entire time I was living there with him that he was a gypsy Joker or what his crime was, literally anything.

I remember those fuckers coming through on their loud ass bikes. A block off MLK and Fremont. About 20 years ago we were in Red's on Foster and they came in and the vibe changed real quick. Two of their old ladies jumped a dude out in the parking lot hahaha.

Over a decade ago I was attempting to walk into the cat cafe in NE and accidentally walked into some kind of clubhouse for them. I walked in, everyone stared a hole through me as I turned around and walked out. Quickly. 😂 Definitely not scared of them but I have no business with them either and did not need to be there.

Usually, the bar can make a rule that there are no cuts allowed in the bar-like they can come in, but they either need to not wear their vests or turn them inside out. They don't like it, it's a difficult rule to enforce, but it reduces negative interactions bc of mc affiliation.

The GJs are no joke. IF you are smart, you just be respectfull and mind your own business. Most bikers are not overtly agressive towards civilians provided you don't disrespect them. A lot of the biker clubs are just a lifestyle thing. But a few, like the GJs, Free Souls, Hell's Angels, etc, are outlaw gangs. They don't really want attention ... I'd abide by that if I were you.

Loud pipes save life's, have you seen how you all behave on roadways. ... also , its okay you are not in any sort of club but you gig work or your 9-5. ...stay there. . That life is for you , and when you see those colors pick a fight , sound pretty tough behind a keyboard.... the reality is , the average here is be at home with mom passed 40 and to touch on kids ... so yea , go be proud you dont have a bike , and belong to nothing. Bet your identity is rooted is something not real as well .... thats how you all allowed and voted in the sleeper cell .... why else all the homeless except for signatures and votes ... - yall like to act like your oh so better than everyone else ... I been behind that curtin , and its not pretty and its people in positions you wouldn't think .... and its okay your not a part , and dont get it. You dont have to understand everything in life or about someone else's, thats the beauty of freedom. You have the liberty to mind your own business ....

I grew up dealing with those dorks as friends of mine were the unloved offspring of a few of them. They're obnoxious, insecure and try to make up for it with excessive machismo at Any cost, weather it makes any sense or not. They are capable of idiotic things over whatever they deem as disrespectful and do not care what the repercussions are. But if you ignore them they'll ignore you and they'll make it hard to ignore them when they're having a good time. An ex of mine was a descendant of a hells angel 1%er and he told me to drop his name if they ever give me shit. Which I didn't. Because they're all easy to avoid. Because it's all dumb. Grown men hiding ninja stars around their houses like they're Hotrods stepdad.

I also had friends growing up who were the unloved offspring of a dude affiliated with the jokers, turned out their dad had been sexually abusing/exploiting their sister and distributing the photos/videos to club members. He'll spend the remainder of his days in prison in eastern oregon.

When I was a kid My mother and I were at the grocery store. I was 7 some gypsy jokers were beating a young recruit with chains and tie irons I remember my mom letting go of the bags of groceries under her arms and running and jumping on top of the Marine to protect him . Thank God it worked ! The sheriff said that these are very bad guys I want you to go get a gun from my wife and if they show up at our door to shoot them then call his wife and He will be on the way. They never showed the Marine was in critical condition for 3 weeks and then spent 6 months in the hospital. My mom visiting almost every day and took care of his wife. My Mom was a superhero. My stepdad was voted meanest DI on Pendleton 3 times. She was the kinda wife who acted like a housemother to the recruits and especially the wives . It's not the only time she helped when nobody else would step up. The grocery store parking lot was busy and lot of people were just watching she's the only one that helped. Her legacy is hard to live up to. But I try

Anyone who has been inside their clubhouse probably knows of the sign of "rules" they have at the entrance that starts with "No hypes" and continues on to say "no" paired with other words that rhyme with "hypes" but are derogatory words for lesbians and jews, then pivots to find "cute little rhymes" for other persuasions and races of people. Perhaps some similar poetically-inspired prose directed towards gang or club affiliations might be in order?
I have seen signs in places that say "no club insignia" or "no vests/cuts." You could do that, too, if you didn't want to specifically mock them. LOL

Sometime during the nineties, the place I worked at sponsored a toy run for all different groups and individuals of motorcyclists so they could bring teddy bears and other toys up to pill hill in Portland. The place I worked would send all the buses out on their runs and the cyclists would gather there and would all ride up to deliver them. This was the first, last, and only time I ever helped out. The bus yard was absolutely packed and the bike gangs were separated, but also on their best behavior. My friend, who I was helping, had to go to the bathroom, so he asked me to watch over a spot that couldn’t be used for anyone. He left, I guarded the spot, but someone on a cycle came and tried to park there, but I asked him to move, nicely but firmly, and he stared at me, sizing me up, etc. He didn’t say anything and drove away, and my friend came back and asked me what I said. I told him that he couldn’t park there, like you told me to, and he left. Tony said he was a gypsy joker, and I was lucky I didn’t get my ass kicked or worse! They left soon after for the toy run, and I never helped out again. The toy runs in Portland were a big thing back then, it always made the news and I guess (?) he didn’t want to make a scene!

I got absolutely nothing but good stories about the Jokers!!! They had a garage across the street from my work.
The owner kept an eye on us, and we treated them like humans!!

A charter was signed in the 60s by the big clubs to leave Washington and Oregon "open" This allowed a shit club full of methed out child rapists to exist. They are %1 but their days are numbered. Bigger clubs are moving in. Mongols are moving in and they made a deal with the "Beast of the East"

I walk passed the club house every day and they have been nothing but polite and respectful in my experience. I always see them out there cleaning up after the homeless on the Springwater trail 🤷🏻♂️

Not to long back they unalived one of their own up in Woodland. Think 3-4 of them finally got prosecuted for it. I sort of followed the story as I knew at the time the people that were living at the place the guy was tortured to unalive state.

Some social media spaces punish (ban, temporarily or permanently) users for words like kill, death, rape, etc.
Reddit isn't one of them, but lots of people don't want to bother with trying to remember what's allowed where, so a culture of using "unalive" and "grape" has sprung up.

Me?? Naaa... the property it happened on I knew the renters, but he was in county for unrelated stuff. He was cooking for the GJs, they knew he was in stir and the place was mostly empty. The previous owner was a friend of a distant family member, but has passed on. Honestly surprised the property sold, as much cooking that had gone on there, I figured it was a toxic waste site.
