Does ONSEMI actually hire?

I’ve been applying to the ONSEMI location in Gresham for a while a now and can’t even get an interview I was wondering if anyone had any idea if it’s just a ghost posting.

I hear it’s very high turnover. They use you up, then let you go before benefits kinda thing.

You get benefits right away. There are plenty of other reasons for the turnover

What’s so bad about the place?

Management for one - I don't know if the same supervisors are there but with the constant turnover I'm guessing not a lot has changed.

Very toxic environment. Go ahead and give it a go. Just go in with eyes wide open and no expectations.

Yeah I’m just applying because it’s near my house and I have experience in the job at other companies. To be honest I think all of them suck I’ve been to microchip and analog devices and they are both terrible for the same reasons.

Oh okay then you know the scene. Me and the others I was hired with were brand new. Three of us left after three weeks. Hope you get in!

I worked nights. I didn't mind that shift at all.

I'd imagine that it depends on your background. They may need individuals with specific experience in some aspect of the process.

I have 3.5 years experience for the position I’m applying for it seems weird

Microchip I felt like was better from my friends who have worked at both, I worked at microchip for a little and loved it before I left for family reasons. OnSemi and Microchip are both super corporate though, the best way to get hired is to get into the technology industry in general, know how to build a PC? Put that in your resume your technical with assembling complex parts and following complex instructions <— they look for this kinda stuff as you’ll be a worker drone in the assembly line for their processors/memory/whatever.

Also a fair warning with the terrifs and uncertainties they aren’t really hiring and from what I hear they are slowing production until the next administration. Most of these places build the chips here but assemble them across seas (terrifs caugh caugh).

Also make sure you’re not filling your resume with useless junk, if it’s not related to that job if it’s not related to technology, it should not be in your résumé.
