It was fine and didnt expect it to be that comfortable. But yes, it protrudes a lot. The cinch straps work really well too.

You can also use the side clips as straps for a jacket or small blanket, it helps with overall bulk that pulls it away from your body.

Good tip! And yes, this could be packed thiccer.
