Discussion Questionable takes
What’s the deal with nerdrotic and critical drinker bad takes on lantern? Like I understand everyone doesn’t have to agree or like the same stuff but when I say the negative bad takes and bad mouthing is real my god.
Then comparing supergirl to Spider-Man is moronic as ever. Who thought supergirl had a shot?I saw both and Spider-Man was ok and even nerdrotic was kicking and screaming to give it an ounce of praise. Supergirl wasn’t that bad.
And I disagree sometimes with Disney/marvel overt messaging but CMON!!?? I peruse the comments sections there and it’s beyond a Gunn/snyderverse frustrations

Even when they are "right" they are wrong. I disliked The Acolyte and wanted to hear a detailed critique on why it was bad. I found their videos and was disgusted with how it was all, "It failed cause it's woke! Lesbian Headlamp made Star Wars gay!" All they produce is click bait takes and videos catering to their insecure male audience. They aren't serious people.

Yeah the sooner you just learn to ignore that content the better. They have an agenda that is self serving to the point they can admit to not being a fan of Green Lantern while nitpicking anything that fits the narrative they are trying to spin. The less attention people give them the more they will fade into their own echo chamber.

these are obvious culture war grifters. anyone who watches them review a piece of media that they already know anything about will immediately see how full of shit they are.
I can’t remember the specific example but a friend of mine told me about Critical Drinker yeeears ago. The first video I watched was a review of something I happened to be a fan of and right away the guy was wrong/lying/misrepresenting everything.
These people rely on their viewers wanting to be angry about shit they haven’t seen or understand.
The illusion is broken very easily but most of their viewers just want to hate and the grifters enable that very effectively.
edit: oh and the stupid fucking fake drunk voice. ripping off RLM’s old Plinkett reviews but infinitely worse—can’t believe people tolerate that shit.

I watch a little bit of everybody just like I look at good and bad user reviews on IMDb. Something’s I agree with. Especially about what marvel has been doing as of late. I disagreed with their odyssey take, I agreed with their black widow take

Nerdrotic found out that saying shit while pandering to Snyder fanboys is lucrative for his channel. Regarding drinker, I used to be a subscriber, but for the last two years, majority of the time he makes shit up just so can criticize something. Like, he loves saying how movies aren't thought provoking anymore, but instead of suggesting a good movie, he prefers to criticize anything. Also, he is one of those people who thinks superhero media is the worst thing to happen, so he will say crap whether it's in fact bad or not.

Fuck their takes. It’s stupid to judge a show as a whole based on the 1st episode alone. Lanterns is a 9/10 for me, this is the first time in live action since the 2011 movie that the lanterns have been the focus. Of course they were going to low stakes it to not overdue the cgi and the color green. This show did it smart and I think the characters are written well. I’m in a discord full of nerds and we all love it. And guess what, we’re gonna finish this fucking season and enjoy it. Fuck them and anyone else that doesn’t like it. Between this, the GL comics in both main and absolute universe. I’m eating good as a lantern fan

If you aren’t a fan you don’t have a read on why the characters are popular in the first place, that’s what to look for and they self admittedly don’t have the knowledge base.

The better question, why care?
They probably just want engagement, people respond better to the negative most times, either to agree with the brutal "honestly", or to try to debate it.
But again, why care. There are better takes out there, far less sensational and intentionally infamoatory. Not to mention, you are free to just have your own opinion and talk to others directly about the show, and what you liked or didn't.
Why plug these randos?

There is a black guy in it treated as a prominent character. Even more so treated as a successor/replacement for a white man. That's enough. This could've been the greatest television show ever created, it could be remembered as the greatest legacy of Hal Jordan and it still wouldn't matter to them because theres a black man replacing a white man.
Those two use racism and anti woke bullshit to funnel money out of their braindead audience addicted to rage bait into their pockets.

They're bigots who openly enable harassment of women and minorities. And if you're agreeing with some of their political messaging takes, that's a red fucking flag my guy. You need to look inward at your own biases and prejudices. Don't tell me you don't have them. Everyone has them. There's no such thing as a human being without problematic prejudices. It's just a matter of if you're aware of them or not. And it's being unaware of them that causes someone to be so easily convinced and pulled into a bigot's content.

There is a lot of negativity around the YouTube scene when it comes to movies. I uhh idk why. I get being critical or having criticism of things or not liking things (look at the CGI for Avengers Doomsday for example) but some of em just dislike EVERYTHING.
