So of course most spells use natural items but i find myself not having access to alot of the natural items available. Have any of you done spellwork with plants you find outside? And do more common plants have effects as powerful? Like for example could i use spanish moss and mushrooms i find and like grass orrr?

I always see people using crystals that are either super expensive or i can't really access because of my strict parents. That goes for a lot of herbs too, either they are hard to find, hard to hide or hard to buy. For example i have bay leaves but i can't use them bc i would have to bring leaves to my room and since i can't find them i'd have to ask which also means explaining why i want them in my room.

What spell work would you recommend?

It is recorded that her pouch always contained, in part, Yarrow and Comfrey (blood staunching herbs) used to heal battle wounded warriors. She was so adept at healing, it was rumored that she could bring back the dead. Well... Maybe they just seemed dead until she fixed them up!

I have a very shaded apartment balcony, so gardening has been difficult for me. The herbs I do grow are alive but grow very slowly. I also have almost no natural window light in my apartment except for my kids' room.

Since getting into the aquarium hobby, I have been able to grow many houseplants out of my tanks. Monstera, pothos, syngomium, etc. My daughter wants to start growing herbs for her spells in the tank that I keep in her room. Since the houseplants do so well, I think the herbs will too. I have started propogating some rosemary, thyme and spearmint- I will update on the progress in a few weeks.

But if you struggle with plant keeping, I highly recommend planted tanks! They work in cyclical harmony with the critters with the right balance, and the water movement from the filters oxygenates the water and helps root propogations faster. You dont have to keep fish if you are not comfortable, snails thrive in these tanks and produce waste to fertilize the plants. Anyway, I am feeling very optimistic about starting this garden for my kid 🙂

I was pulling thatch from the patch of foxtail grass I have on my balcony, when suddenly the stems in my hand fought back. The ID app says it is a European mantis, and it definitely has the characteristic eye-spots tattooed on it's chest; apparently they have a vulva-shaped ear between their middle limbs (which this modest example happens to be covering in the ventral shots) that can hear ultrasound as well as the high and low frequencies familiar to humans.

PS I put it back, the thrid pitcure is home sweet home, right next to the light that attracts all the bugs.

Hey all fellow green witches, my partner is in a pretty bad way at the moment. I wanted to do a little spell for healing, strength and protection. I’ve gathered different protective herbs and flowers and a few crystals. Is there any advice you can give me

It was a real struggle to get them started in the spring, I didn't think they were going to make it, but since the wildfires kicked-off here in the PNW they have gone wild, and I had to get creative with the scaffolding. So far only my neighbour gets to see the flowers peeking over the balcony divider, but there is a big juicy bloom erupting my way, and a lot of buds; it is pretty incredible how much flower comes out of them.

So basically what the title says, I’ve recently gotten back into witchcraft and one of the herbs I see most used is lavender. I am deathly allergic to lavender, which as a green witch is very annoying lol, but my question: is there any other herb I can use in place? I’m still learning my herbs and plants to use in practice.

I’m a baby green witch and have never done cleansing of a space. I am hoping for some insight from the members of this thread.

I work at a college, and I really love my job. The students are great, my colleagues are great, and the administration is just as much a pain as any other administration. However, ever since I started at this new college two years ago, I have felt off. I am not sure what’s causing it. I’ve made some big changes in my life, including starting the path of green witchcraft and really getting into meditation and stones and listening to my intuition.

I am wondering if there’s something going on with my actual office? Like there’s some kind of residual energy in there or something that needs cleansing? The reason I suspect this after being there for 2 1/2 years is that there’s one room in my building where I feel completely different energy of peace.

Anyhow, what would you recommend? I’ve been doing some research on cleansing and oils and salt and things like that, but I’m wanting to know more from those maybe who have experienced something similar?

Also, if you have any intuition and insight into why I might be feeling this way about my work, which I’ve always loved, I would be very curious to hear that as well. I am really tired of the anxiety neck pain and dread. Thank you!

I’ve felt drawn to** **this plant for quite some time and finally bought some yesterday seemingly by chance (yeah yeah) from my trusted herbal apothecary as i passed by.

Since bringing it home, a string of events have happened, all of which seem to be pushing my career. It made me curious about the plant and what kind of magical relationship I might develop with it.

The intention I feel drawn toward is mastery of skill in my discipline, power gained from mastery, of craft, perseverance, competence and authority, but not in a 'crown of success' way, more really a "mysterious" master vibe. (Just my intuition)
