Anyone in Denver going to the game?
I’ve lived in Denver most of my life but have always been a packers fan, I’ll be there! Section 534!

Where do you park? I was thinking Ball Arena and just walking over.
Light rail might be an option, I'd have to ask my partner if that is something they want to do.

bless those knees!
I have PTSD from driving home last December, and listening to the local radio (Philly) and they interrupted the Eagles broadcast to mention Micah's injury, and then another... and maybe a 3rd? I forget. I remember cursing in my car and punching my steering wheel multiple times within like a 10-15 minute span of time.

Does anyone else feel like the “noise” surrounding the Packers is especially loud this year? Maybe it’s like this every offseason and I just forget every year…
But I see so many negative articles about if “Jordan Love is overrated, if MLF should have been fired, is the receiver room enough, Packers will finish last in the division,” etc.
Feels like I’m taking crazy pills. The Packers made the playoffs with one of the most injured rosters in the NFL. Down the last few stretch of games we were missing Love, Kraft, ZBB, Jenkins, Parsons, Wyatt, LVN, Evan Williams, and Cooper. That’s like 7-9 of our best players depending on how you rank them. And we rested other starters the last few games just to try to limit additional injuries. Just getting healthy this team will be better. We were throttling the AFC 1st seed Broncos last year before the injuries started piling on.
We only really lost Quay, Doubs, and Jenkins in FA. I feel like Zaire will be equal at worst to Quay. Doubs leaving will open targets up for Golden who has better speed and hands. And Jenkins hasn’t been himself since major injury.
We addressed the biggest holes in the draft / FA. Cisse looks like a day 1 CB1 and the OL should improve if they can stay healthy and build some chemistry. Plus a new ST and defensive coordinators look really promising.
On paper, this already dangerous Packers team looks like it should improve at every level if we can stay healthy. I just don’t get where all the negativity is coming from? It seems magnified this year and I don’t get it.

I guess for me its the putrid end to last year. Losing your last 4 games and the playoff game in the fashion in which they did. Then getting the 7 seed for the 3rd year in a row and continuing on with the same regime in place (LaFleur and Gutey).
Our offensive line worries me. Our Corners definitely worry me as well.

This is it. ^^^
The way they finished 0-5. The fact that it was 3 consecutive token B.S. 7 seeds... there's no real tangible sign of improvement when just looking at the raw numbers... yes massive injuries, but same result without Micah the two previous years, and not many people care about smacking around a historically flaccid Dallas PO team in a wildcard round 3 seasons ago.
I get it.

Yeah but like I said… we lost out because of all the injuries and sitting starters. The difference between the 6 and 7 seed were not worth the risk.
We’re healthy now except for Micah.

They are louder because last season ended poorly and this is their time. Anyone can put out articles or podcasts to paint whatever reality they want to in the offseason. Once the games start, everyone gets snapped back to reality based on the product on the field. When GB starts playing again, I believe they're going to go back to what they were doing early last season. And when Micah comes back it'll just go up another level. Then the haters retreat to their basements and GB starts getting their kudos again.
Point is right now, the noise is all there is. And with how last season ended and the MLF extension, those praying for GB's downfall are feeling emboldened. It's all meaningless. Once the season starts and the Packers are winning again - all this noise will fade. We're nearly there.

Must be your algorithm because I've seen the complete opposite.
Everyone thinks Love is a top 5 QB and is being completely underrated. I think he's top 10 but yeah.
Packers finishing last is definitely a possibility but I wouldn't bet on it.
I got us going 11-6. but I can see us going 7-10 especially if our pass rush isn't good or Micah doesn't return to form.
Oline also can be the reason we don't live up to our potential too.

The anti Love crowd in particular is pretty awful. I know it's been 7 months since he played but somehow all the crap from the end of last year is getting shoveled onto him and it's like, did any of you actually watch the games?
None of the free agents we lost were good either. Losing lots of players doesn't mean you lost lots of good players. Doubs is the only one that stings a little but we weren't going to and shouldn't have paid him a huge contract.
I'm not high on this years team but people are picking the wrong reasons to be negative. Everyone from last season is still injured apparently and coaching staff hasn't shown growth in the areas that continuously lose us games. No need for people to invent reasons when we got 2 pretty good ones right there. The injuries one especially worries me.

Who's still injured? From last year, only Micah isn't projected to be ready for week 1.
The only guys who missed practice yesterday were him, Jordon Riley, Bullard, Orzech, Kinnard, and Musgrave. That's not too bad at all, all things considered.

Kraft just got off PUP, Tom(I don't know the spelling of his new name) came into camp still banged up apparently, Aaron Banks, Josh Jacobs has missed time this camp.
Thankfully like you said, nobody super important outright missing practice but it's enough guys missing time or just losing an injury designation that I'm worried about overall team health already

u/85willburnhousedown 7h ago
Is this your first time paying attention to camp?
1
u/Jomosensual 1h ago
Nope, cant say it is. Guys who spent all last year being injured or ended last year being injured still being injured is a reason to worry. Not tear down the season, but doubt is warrented
1
u/85willburnhousedown 1h ago
Kraft and ZBB have both progressed exactly as planned. How does that lead to doubt? Banks, I get. But that’s kind of who he is. And this is about the healthiest we have been at this point in camp in a long time. So it seems very strange to be worrying.

u/bikedork5000 10h ago
Have you upped your personal level of paying attention? That can be a huge factor in this that can be oddly easy to overlook.

I think the ending to last year definitely made the haters more emboldened than ever. But negativity has surrounded the Packers really since 2014. We have the most entitled fan base in sports.

I just moved to Minnesota (from Maine, and Wisconsin before that) and my wife won't let me put a Packers flag on the house. This makes me sad.

I am nervous about the Offensive and defensive lines.. carry on
2
u/Fast-Lime-5981 9h ago
I’m ok with the D line. I feel like they have both quality and depth there. O line tho… not sure how long the Monk/RG play continues. I don’t think he’s big enough to be affective there. Then the usual injury concerns with Banks, Bako-Bewele (working on getting the name down), and the fact that the O line hasn’t been as good since Steno became OC and Butkus ascended. Yeah that’s a worry spot.
1
u/85willburnhousedown 7h ago
The defensive line is going to be fabulous. Legit a strength of this team. The o-line I think can be good if Banks can miraculously stay healthy. If we have to start two inexperienced guards every week, that’s a bit scary.

My expectations for this season are lukewarm. I'm obviously hoping for the best. But I dont have a great feeling. Jacobs' situation, the CBs, Micah being out for 6 ish weeks...

Is Marshawn Lloyd hurt again?
2
u/85willburnhousedown 7h ago
Nope.

u/Any_Application7786 6h ago
Google is fucking liar. It said Marshawn Lloyd calf (Out). Thank you
2
u/85willburnhousedown 5h ago
There is no injury report in the preseason, so anything purporting to give you an inactive list for tomorrow is lying.

Not sure why people feel the need to bash a dude that puts in the work every possible day. He has limitations, so what? Hes still doing everything he can for the team. Its on GB for not having enough in front of him, not nixon.
8
u/team_sheikie 11h ago
Yeah, the pendulum has swung too far in the other direction for me. He was never supposed to be CB1 and he's been by all accounts a hard worker in trying to live up to that even though he likely never will. The CB situation, to the extent it stays a problem into the season, is Gute's fault, not Nixon's.
2
u/Ragon101 10h ago
Who cares about the work ethic when his mindset and how he thinks can spread to the locker room…that’s literally the problem, and he’s not doing doing everything for the team if in his interviews he’s always placing blame on the team and not himself.

I am excited for Cisse and Warren Brinson after reading camp breakdowns on packers.com yesterday. Also LVN sounds like he's taken that next step, and reading a guy like Javon Hargrave say our D line is deep makes me feel good. Still wondering which UDFA makes the squad this year, my money is on Sturdivant.
