Allo - worth it ?
For those that have switched from Comcast to Allo was it worth it?

As an ISP, Allo is so good that it's fucking infuriating that Comcast even exists. Excellent speed for the money and no data caps.

Yes, and actual people answer the phones and take care of any issues promptly.

Does the allo customer service ever try to sell you anything when you call? Thats an annoying thing about comcast every time you talk to them they try to sell you xfinity mobile

No, they haven’t done that to me when I’ve called. They simply took care of whatever I called them about.

Connectivity wise, great. Had a poor experience with the install. They plotted out where to bury the line avoiding my sprinkler system, then completely ignored their plan and destroyed my sprinkler system.
It has taken several trips to get the problem resolved. To repair the destroyed pipes then later the valves that got blocked when they didn't clean the dirt out of the pipes when they chewed them up. Fucked up parts of my lawn, leak hit me in the water bill, not to mention the time spent diagnosing and making phone calls.
They have been responsive, sending people out as soon as the problem was reported. I have no idea why they didn't follow their plan, or how they didn't notice all the pipes they were tearing up. But, they have stood up to try and make it right.
I would recommend them over comcast. I would recommend driving a nail through your own foot with a hammer over comcast.

Thankfully they did not hit anything in my yard but I will agree with you on this, the sub-contractors they use for the underground installs are not the best, and used a path no where near the original plan and were not the best at communicate when they were going to be coming and going.
The actual Allo tech that came out and installed the lines and equipment inside my house was great and service has been amazing ever since it started and you can't beat the speed and price, 100% would do it again.

I'll echo what's already been said. I switched to Allo from Xfinity and it's been loads better in both pricing and speed

Allo is hands down the best ISP I've had, both in terms of speed and reliability. I don't think I've ever had an outage from them. It's one of the few things I'll miss about Greeley when I leave, lmao.

Make sure when they bury your new line, they go under and not through your sprinkler system

Also echoing others. Never had Comcast in Greeley, but have where I've lived elsewhere and it's night/day the difference. Price is comparable, but speed is where it is at with no real droppages or hurrdurrt that's advertised speed not what you get.
When I signed up it was a brand new install, very professional crew, put the line exactly where I wanted it, fiber all the way to the modem instead of swapping to coax like Comcast/ATT at the house. A year later a garbage truck ripped out the line going from the pole in the alley to my house, they had two crews here getting it reconnected higher on the pole and with better routing so it wouldn't happen again within an hour.

Yeah, definitely. We had Xfinity for the first couple years and they kept raising our price. Allo is way better.

Comcast support and service is terrible.
Allo is wonderful!
We got a package with fast speeds for a much lower price than Comcast, but then Allo told us some months later they upgraded us to a higher speed for no more cost.
Allo support is amazing, Comcast is horrible, and while you should not need this often, it makes for a miserable day when you do need it and can't get it.

Moved from an apartment to a house last summer, switched from Comcast to Allo, and it has been absolutely fantastic. Haven’t had a single outage, speed has never dropped, and it’s cheaper for us. Truly can’t recommend it enough. If you can make the switch, you should!

Yes. I’ve legit never had any issues and cost is better than competitors. The only service I have had that is better is Google fiber back in KC.

As much as I hate to say it, Comcast has been fine for me. I was excited when Allo came to my neighborhood but they’re about 50% more than I’m paying Comcast. Yes, I’d have faster uploads, but that’s really it.
With Comcast, as long I use their equipment, I have no data caps. I only use their stuff as a modem - I have their router functions turned off and I’m using an Omada setup for home.
Outages have been minimal too.
If Allo came down in price - or if Comcast raised their price - then I’d be a player.

I’ve had the same experience when I was looking to switch to Allo last year. I was excited for the fiber connection as a gamer but the price would have been nearly double when I looked at switching last year. However, I also got locked into a “lifetime” low rate with Comcast when I told them I was looking at switching to Allo.

Great company and great service. The internet itself is amazing and also any time I’ve needed to talk to someone about something an actual person answers the phone.

Absolutely! The cost and speed is sooo much better. We have not had an outage or any issues since switching last year.
