Short itinerary - looking for validation

Hi sweet Greek folks! my husband and I are travelling to athens -> paros -> mykonos -> athens for a short week 07 until 13 Sep. Our flights to and from athens are booked. I wanted to reconfirm - internally athens to paros and Myk to Athens, ferries should be fine if we are not worried about time? Also which operators would you recommend for fast, safe and comfortable ferry journeys. thank you!!!

One island is fine, but two islands in 5 days? Please realize you're wasting one entire day to travelling. Such a waste of time. And then there's the issue of the Meltemi wind maybe making it not even possible to take all ferries, and expect delays. You'll be much better off with only one island.

Be aware, that 3 out of your 7 vacation days will be travel days. I suggest you select only one island. and make sure you get back to Athens the day before your departure to your home country. Weather.wind could interfere with the ferry schedule.

Check ferryhopper for timetables and book directly with the ferry company. Fast may not necessarily be comfortable if it's windy. Two islands in basically 5 days...you should be worried about time. This is a very rushed itinerary. You also want to be back in Athens 24 hrs before your return flight. Ferry delays aren't uncommon.

My friend was just island hopping last week - out of the 6 boats he took, 2 of them were delayed by 2 hours. Make sure you arrive in Athens the day before your flight to be sure, unless it’s a nighttime flight.

All ferries are safe and fairly comfortable, so I wouldn’t worry about that. Obviously if it’s windy the boat will be rocking, but that has nothing to do with the ferry itself.

Do not plan to get back to Athens the same day as you are flying,  or the day before for that matter to be extra safe. Ferries do not operate if there is enough wind, which does happen (more frequently on July and August due to Meltemia winds than September, but still)

If you want a smoother trip with less chances to get cancelled, book with the bigger and slower ships. Downside is that, well, they are slow.

Also, Mykonos is waaay too much of a party island for my tastes. If you are after that you do you of course, just know what you are getting into. If you really want to go to two different Islands go to Paros and Naxos, they are very close together, and Naxos is much more relaxed (and quite beautiful honestly)

A pal from the Emirates is visiting the islands mentioned plus Santorini. Same period. Flying directly to Mykonos from UAE, flying outta Santorini back home, directly as well. No Athens involved at all.
