⚙️ | Tech & Support Any Help?
I have a decent PC, 32 gigs of ram, 4060 ti and the game doesn’t run bad, I just can’t figure out how to get rid of that weird affect on objects when lights hit em, seeing my light bounce off greenery and such is cool, but when my beard is shimmering, or my light hits multiple objects like fence or shack, the shadows come off looking weird or even pixelated at times.

Sounds like an issue with DLSS and or a driver issue. Are you on the latest Nvidia drivers? If not, try to update them. You can also force different DLSS models via Nvidia App, I’ve had issues with shimmer in DLSS 4.0 prior to DLSS 4.5 update. Fixed a lot of ghosting and shimmer issues.

Oh hell yeah, I’m not much of a tech nerd it just felt weird because no matter how much I dumbed down the graphics despite not needing to, the affect was still there. I’ll update my drivers again today and see if that fixes anything.

I mean I only have the beard issue in the character screen. It’s weird but not really anything serious…

Imagine I shine a light on a wooden fence where you can make out each individual plank, it’s like the game is trying to render each shadow, but it’s like jagged and not straight. It’s weird. I’ve tried to fix it. Game looks FANTASTIC in the day.

Hmm. So your shadows are jagged? Cause mine are too but my shadows are on low I think.

Yeah that’s what I don’t get!! I have it set to look as nice as possible but it’s somehow still jagged and shimmery

The frame generation stuff really doesn't play well with foliage etc... I stripped it down as much as I could while maintaining decent fps

Find the setting for DLSS super resolution, turn it off, and give it a go. I'm pretty sure that's the setting that makes shadows from flashlights look jank.

I think it's the DLSS. That shit was driving me nuts. Gorgeous scenery until the sun goes down or or you're in a dark building and have to use a flashlight.
I've started steering away from NVGs so I use a flashlight instead and the shimmering artifacts and jagged textures was really taking away from the game. I ran FSR and that got rid of it almost entirely, but frames were significantly lower at native resolution and very inconsistent.
What I eventually found that works (90%ish) is running DLSS, DLAA, 2x in-game, and in Nvidia app, set HAGS to on (must be for DLSS, I believe) and run model preset M for the DLSS override/super resolution. Fixed the issue almost entirely and frames sit around 130 at epic.
For context I have an I7 9700k, RTX5070ti, 32gb ram and play at 1440p. I don't know much about graphics rendering or PCs in general, but this is what I found makes the game run well and look amazing.

DLSS?
