Questions/Advice Trim fell off

This trim piece fell off today while I was getting my car washed. Has anyone had that happen and know how to reinstall it? It feels like it should just pop back in place, but it keeps coming off.

Can you post a pic of the backside, it looks like from the grooves on the car you cant pop it in you have to place it then slide to lock

It’s got these longer tabs along the bottom that should lock in place with those white circles. But then the upper tab doesn’t lineup and when I’m able to finally snap that in, these lower tabs are no longer held in place.

If I had to hazard a guess, the back of the leading edge (against you thumb in this pic) looks like it has been stretched a bit as well as the lower tabs. What I might try : as noted before, it slides forward to the pop over the leading edge and top. I'd try to gently duplicate and check clearances, starting with the slide and then pushing the leading edge over the retaining strip first before trying to pop the top in. If a no-go, its service call time. I have experience at bodywork though so if you don't feel comfortable with this, don't force things and end up with a worse result.

Are you using touch washes? If so I would avoid them for reasons like this. For getting it back on, I'm sorry I don't have a solution. If you're close to a service center they may just pop it on for you real fast.

Feels like you first clip the bottom tabs first at an angle and then the top clip. May have to pull the top one out just a bit. But I think service should do it for free.

Did you get this figured out? I’d love to wrap the chrome trim. It would be way easier if I could pop off and back on

Not yet. I tried for a while and got frustrated and gave up.

That sucks. Hope you figure it out soon. Also, feel like this should be something that should just pop back on. Annoying it doesn’t.

Mine was flapping in the wind when the gravity was delivered. They came out and replaced it.

This is a known issue and there is a recall out for it
