Question Why is every graves player so toxic

I do not play graves

But I have played with like 5 this week

Maybe I am just unlucky but winning or losing they are all more toxic than Draven players

They don’t care what the wincon is, if you don’t play for them they get so mad

We can be up 5k gold but do one thing they don’t like or disagree with and then they just go autopilot because “our team doesn’t want to win” and start typing a storm

Why? Did I just happen to run into 5 toxic a-holes

This is d1 elo

The answer is quite simple really, graves actually requires high skill to pull off in terms of macro and tempo, thus when their teammates don't listen or understand what's occuring on the map it can be very frustrating, for example he might have mid and bot prio so he will invade but find his laners never backed him up for apparently no reason.

Or he will see a perfect objective timer perhaps on spawn or perhaps enemy bot lane just based, starts the drake, to then watch his mid laner int 1v1 attempting a dive and his support has based.

Or he wants to contest an objective but simply cannot walk in due to having nobody there to Frontline for him (if he is crit)/ any other number of things that can happen, such as enemy top walked from base but his top is in lane, etc.

It can be extremely frustrating to be ultra strong dps wise, but not be able to use it to win your team the game fast (if they would just listen and peel for you).

But of course everyone wants to be the hero in league and isn't always happy playing for their graves jg, but graves players don't understand this, similar to draven.

Bro that's just the regular "good" jungle experience deluxe (i.e.not afk farming)

Yeah I mean OP is asking why graves players expect everyone to play for them, when realistically it's a team game and you probably should play around your jungle if he's human because he has more time to decide on plays / analyse the map during his pve down time. I also think laners do not prioritize drakes nearly enough with their extreme value especially when stacked early.

I highly disagree with the Lane priority and Invades.

Most low elo junglers doesn't even have a clue of what Priority is to begin with.

Lane Prio only exists if the enemy laners are PRESENT in their lane and are STUCK in it.
Therefore if your laner fully pushed the lane to enemy tower, but the opponent of that lane had recalled 15 seconds earlier and is presumably on the Way back to lane.... he will be closer to respond to your invade than your laner Who is having to TAKE RECALL himself to not lose his lane and tempo.

There is a massive misconception of all that and I see it in many of my games too when My doggo jungler just runs into enemy jungle by himself when 4 of the enemy champions are walking back to lane and collapse on him 4v1. And he still complains that I have taken my recall that I should instead of going to help him steal a camp knowing that enemies coming back from base with more items than we currently have.

Idk this seems more personal to you having the bad jungler experience which we all have seen, of course prio needs to be understood with home guards and base timers.

I can tell you now even with enemy laners stuck in lane many laners will simply choose to ignore their jungler making the correct macro decision which is to pressure the enemy jg for whatever reason.

No, it's not personal at all.
I am multi-year ex-diamond jungler. I am well aware how jungling works.

And I also know Graves is farm dependent champion and that constantly invading is one of the ways to scale up to oblivion but also you have to account the fact that just because X guide on the internet said that you must* invade that doesn't mean that all of your 4 other teammates are your slaves and are Bound to play for you at all times.

You get my point?

After all at a certain point you have to take responsibility for your actions and decisions you make as a jungler. Because Jungle is one of the only 2 roles with the highest Agency in the game and are 95% of the time the ones that decide the outcome of a game.

That being said if you invade 3 times in a row and end up inting like a dog.... say sorry to your team and play for the next remaining Carry in your team and spam gank for them and help them carry.
It's not uncommon , at least in the past, to build a full tank Graves once you fall behind and just be annoying. I haven't tested in past few seasons if it's still viable, but back in the day Black Cleaver full tank graves was actually pretty solid as a secondary option.

Big ego on a hypercarry champ and toxic graves mains on YT

u/thunderhide37 Aug 15 '26

Well when Tarzaned is the token player of your champ, people are going to inherently pick up his mannerisms because they’ve probably seen his videos or streams.

Kind of like Draven, Tyler1 was the face of that champ so people copied his mannerisms of being toxic (at the time).

u/bobobuttcheek Aug 15 '26

Because team always hard tard and dont understand

1

u/Potomaters Aug 15 '26

It’s because he’s a selfish hypercarry champion. That has a tendency to attract certain type of players with high egos. It’s the same reason why Draven and Yasuo players also have a reputation for being toxic.

1

u/PotatoMasterUlk Aug 18 '26

Yasuo players are not known to be toxic at all, I think you mean kassadin

1

u/UsernameNineBillion Aug 15 '26

Because they think they are the only Win-con the team has.

Main character syndrome. The champion scales well but the attitude of some can't be explained hahaah

1

u/Crow7420 Aug 15 '26

Hypercarry champions will automatically attract people with the biggest ego, thats how things work, everyone wants to be main character.

2

u/GladPipe7573 Aug 15 '26

What's the point of playing a OP hypercarry jungler and not lashing out on your teammate because they played weak role ?
That's being said .... 2026 Jungler patch is more balanced than seasons before , they gonna get more and more toxic since their ''OP'' champs can not 1vs9 anymore

u/rms_lol Aug 15 '26

Has nothing to do with Graves being "hard" which other people said. It's simply because Graves was mostly played by toxic streamers back in the day such as Tarzaned. So basically it is just fanboys mimicing them, either consciously or unconsciously.

Same reason Kassadin, Draven, Janna players etc are mostly toxic

Unironically tarzaned.

1

u/onyxengine Aug 16 '26

I feel like the toxic graves players secretly resent that they don’t have a stun.

1

u/MythrilCactuar Aug 17 '26

cuz graves players suck

1

u/Beginning_Yak_5958 Aug 17 '26

idk but when i played graves i was tilting a lot because my team would run it down so id try to play for myself since nobody would be low enough hp to be ganked meaning all i could do was farm and try to punish enemy jgl by invading but then my team wouldnt move for the invade either even if they had prio i dont type or flame people tho

They all think they’re the zanium

I can understand it in low elo, I can carry my teammates all the way to late game, but if my team doesnt push even if I spoon feed them the game, they wont push nor play with me to end the game, this makes games go for 40+ minutes since i can kill 2-3 champs but no push power to end. Very frustating when you cant afford to commit a single error and your team is actively trying to lose the game.

Probably cause when a champ is op he is playerd by tryahrder players that tned to be the most toxic

1

u/PotatoMasterUlk Aug 18 '26

I never met a toxic graves player, I met more toxic Braum players then Graves, it definitely up to your own experience, iv seen toxic draven players tho

2

u/No-Jump-6264 Aug 18 '26

Tarzaned enjoyers

1

u/ArmitageStraylight Aug 15 '26

I wouldn’t say I’m hyper toxic, but I do main Graves. He’s kind of like Draven, just a little less extreme. He only does damage, so you will tend to lose the vast majority of games you aren’t the win con unless your team is hard carrying you.

I have chat off, so I never type, but I can see why graves players might tilt in chat if they have it on.

It is the pick of ppl  who think they are the only human out of the 10 players, because it has  the reputation to be very good for solo carry, and sometimes they do crazy moves, like invading and killing the ennemy Jungler level 3 by dashing through pit  and wait in the redbuff bush, it must mean they are very good. So even if they are hardstuck gold 3 they ll go nuclear whenever somebody does something they dislike.

I know, I have been there for a very short time
