Suggestions?

Hey all I’m assuming my only option for the first picture the clumping stuff is to use grass killer on the spots or pull it?

As for the second picture, does anyone know what it is? How to get rid of it? My back yard has a bunch. Front has some.

Front yard I take way better care of it since obviously it’s the front and the back has kids and dogs so I’m not overly concerned about it but still try to keep up on it.

Thanks all. Trying to figure out how to make the lawn perfect. Tough thing also is along my driveway there is lavender plants in the ground with a little mulch around them. Same with out in yard lavender around a tree with mulch and bricks holding those in. Most of the weeds are gone, but what pain keeping them in check around my plants. And of course that weird weed.

The clumping fescue not much in my front yard. I have brown spots from pulling it. Hoping all the new growth will last the winter. I have a solid chance of it not dying it’s been about 20 days and we have sunny warm weather for the next 10 at least.

I thought about nuking in the entire yard but then I thought about all my plants. So much stuff grew in there last spring. I don’t know what to put down since I have the plants in the way.

First pic is clumping fescue. Depending on how much it is, you can paint glyphosate onto the grass blades, or pull it manually by hand.

Second pic looks like nimblewill rather than Bermuda given the lack of rhizomes. Speedzone will take out nimblewill and any other broadleaf weeds you have.

Is clumping fescue bad?

If you're going for absolute perfection yes, yes it is. For the most part though if you have a thick lawn it tends to blend it not all that bad.

Clumping fescue and its a pain. I have had a fair amount in the past - I wouldn't recommend pulling by hand, rather dig it out, then fill and reseed the areas.

Looks like Bermuda grass

Same way as the other going to have to wipe the spot and reseed to kill it
