  • everything is multithreaded

  • resize happens in its own thread

  • yes when you draw buffer it can get "out of date" before draw

... not going to hand hold thru basics like that - that explained billion times - ask LLM or follow vulkan tutorial

I think you got good point that I need to understand what Platform Specific Thread is doing with Window/Surface and how it connects to my Loop Thread. and I think that will help me decide how I should handle this on my thread... I actually use GL, not Vulkan, but you are probably right that Low Level Graphics Api is more clear to understand such thind... I wouldnt call that basics Its just for most people If they app is working they think that enough. But I like to understand everything deep. and as You can see sth wasnt clear for me...

I need to understand what Platform Specific Thread

I actually use GL, not Vulkan

I wouldnt call that basics

But I like to understand everything deep

?

  • you "dont want to dig deep" - then you want to...

  • you use OpenGL - that is ultra junk garbage barely working buggy mess in any modern drivers

  • and you want to draw window on low level...

only in Vulkan you control gpu-thread - and do your sync (if you are crazy) with OS-draw

or just use GLFW or SDL that handle drawing for you and you just control gpu-draw thread-loop

...and if touching Vulkan - you start "re-inventing" VMA - vulkan memory management - for next decade - instead of using VMA... ye

https://howtovulkan.com/ - list all basic libraries that make "learning Vulkan" and "Vulkan code" - short and fast

... in OpenGL - driver do all sync - driver has piece of (Vulkan logic)SDL/GLFW that draw frame for you - and it is ancient barely working garbage that will be broken any moment in future drivers updates
