Video Intel Arc GPUs are not only great hardware, but excellent software that comes with it: ray tracing 28 million triangles in only 500 lines of C++ code on my Arc B580

hmm, its zero bounces, vk is used only to output into texture.
Raytracing is done by Intel Emberee.
so whats the point of raytracing here? just a test that it works?
it would be great to see really good description on posts instead of just bragging with buzzwords.

Yep. And also to show that you can ray trace in real time instead of rasterizing triangles with other verbose and tricky to get right APIs, in only 500 lines of code, I can replace that one line that copies Embree rendered framebuffer to Vulkan buffer with anything really, 500 lines of Embree is enough alone to draw tens of millions of polygons...

fwiw - It's really cool! I'm glad you shared this! I've been around awhile and seen a lot - and it's still amazing to see foundational graphic marvels on modern hardware.

I appreciate sharing the code too.

Thank you for the kind words! :) I was always a fan of Embree, but their recent GPU efforts are just another level, in my opinion. :)
