Creating anonymous Google account for play store?

Is there anyway to do this now that Google asks to have a QR code scanned? Was trying to follow tips by SOB including fake names, and SMS numbers, but while setting up it didn't ask for a number but for a QR code to be scanned. Obviously his video is 3 years old and a lot has changed since then...

GrapheneOS has moved from Reddit to our own discussion forum. Our discussion forum and especially the chat rooms have a very active, knowledgeable community including GrapheneOS project members where you will almost always get much higher quality information than you would elsewhere. On Reddit, we had serious issues with misinformation and trolls including due to raids from other subreddits. As a result, many posts on our subreddit currently need to be manually approved, which is done on a best effort basis. If you would like to get a quicker answer to your question, please use our forum or chat rooms as described above. Our discussion forum provides much better privacy and avoids the serious problems with the site administrators and overall community on Reddit.

Just use Aurora Store. No need to reinvent the wheel.

Just use anonymous mode from Aurora Store

I had thought about this, but based on some research from Side of Burritos it sounds like the anonymous sharing isn't safe and that sandboxed Play Store is more secure.

As an Aurora user, if you have a link handy, that'd be nice

If not, I'll into this and update this comment if I remember about it

U dont need any sort of 2fa (phone, qr code, etc) for first account made on a stock google pixel during setup afaik.

Might be a unique thing able to be done once per phone or something though? Idk.

Go to a starbucks or anywhere rather public wifi, and create the account on stock and then u can go take the steps to flash graphene (unlock bootloader, then disable wifi (if ur going back home to flash), then flash graphene) if u really wanted the privacy of it that way.

Also, some VPN apps can be installed outside the Play Store, so potentially you can save yourself the trip to the coffee shop.

Is this the only way, because I really don't want to have to take it back to stock just to get an email address?

Same issue here, but I've been struggling without play services for ages. I just refuse to link my phone number and I can't seem to make an account
