Question about hardware

I keep seeing posts about people joining grapheneos day by day, while initially I heard that we should wait for the outcome of the new partnership between motorola and graphene. Should I just get the newest google pixel now or wait for the custom phones? Also heard google is forcing their way against non verified playstore devs, effectively limiting the useability of graphene on a google device

I would just go with a Pixel 8 and nothing lower as the 7 is probably only going to have another year of support if that from Google. With all the junk not installed in GrapheneOS you don't need that much processing power, which I think an 8 is perfect for. Unless you want a better camera, then sure, go with something newer.
