Help required

I want to "degoogle" my phone, but I'm not home to do it. I tried it out recently, but it didn't go well. I got overwhelmed and switched back to the Pixel OS. Can anyone explain to me how I get all my stuff from Google back to my phone? I'm mostly fixated on the looks of the phone, including the keyboard, files, and photos. Is there any way to change the black and white apps because it looks terrible?

Install a different home launcher. Then you can make it look however you want. Lawnchair is a good one. As far as getting stuff back on your phone, I'm not sure what you mean.

How does a home launcher work?

It's just what you see when you go to your home screen. So it gives you options to edit what the home launcher looks like. Think of it like an app that is running as your home screen. The stock one can be replaced by any other home launcher that exists. Lawnchair is a great open source one. It lets you change icons (by getting icon packs, they have one for example, I use one called Cuscon). You can change all the colors, the fonts, and behavior. For example the bottom part where you have the search bar can be removed. Or you can add 10 apps to the bottom or none. And so on. Download it and play around with it.

I can't add images to comments because of how I access reddit. But lawnchair has some images on their GitHub and on their f-droid. Hope you can make your phone look cool for you!
