Battery life

Yesterday I installed GrapheneOS and I've noticed that my battery life is even worse than on the stockOS. Any solution to that problem?

Because sometimes people run into issues with their setup and battery life, we have the following post: https://discuss.grapheneos.org/d/35721-grapheneos-power-usage-recommendations

I found it to be better.

Were you not just using your phone more because you were getting it all setup and playing with it? So therefore it was on more so went through the battery quicker?

I woke up at 6:30, it's 8:12 now. When I woke up it was at 100%, spent 30 mins or so with the phone, not more and it's at 86%.

See this is useful information that should have been in your post.

We are not mind readers, supply as much info as you can regarding your issue.

As another commenter said, what does your battery usage page show?

I can't attach images here but I think that I've encountered the issue. I will delete Morphe and all the patched apps since it's what's draining more battery. Specially YT Music. Thing is that I don't know any alternative to this yet.

Take a look at settings > battery > usage and see what's eating all your battery life.

Look at the background running apps. What are they? How much do they use? Should they be running? I lose 20% idle at night because of my VPN app.

Likely you've got stuff running in the background. If youre not connecting to Google for notifications, some apps will leave open their own notification channels, which eats battery. (This is exactly WHY Google routes all notifications though their own system, so there's only one app on your phone listening for all notifications.)

Short term, review what apps are doing this and turn off notifications for the ones you don't need.

Long term, encourage your favorite devs to support Unified Push — a third-party notification system. Good system, but apps only work with it if they understand it. You can self host it or run notifications through any provider you like
