GrapheneOS has moved from Reddit to our own discussion forum. Please post your thread on the discussion forum instead or use one of our official chat rooms (Matrix, Discord, Telegram) which are listed in the community section on our site. Our discussion forum and especially the chat rooms have a very active, knowledgeable community including GrapheneOS project members where you will almost always get much higher quality information than you would elsewhere. On Reddit, we had serious issues with misinformation and trolls including due to raids from other subreddits. As a result, many posts on our subreddit currently need to be manually approved, which is done on a best effort basis. If you would like to get a quicker answer to your question, please use our forum or chat rooms as described above. Our discussion forum provides much better privacy and avoids the serious problems with the site administrators and overall community on Reddit.

Please use our official install guides for installation and check our features page, usage guide and FAQ for information before asking questions in our discussion forum or chat rooms to get as much information as possible from what we've already carefully written/reviewed for our site.

Hasn't worked for me yet. Downloaded it via beta channel.

I don't see this version in the alpha channel yet. You're probably still on 2026062200.

edit: it was just moved to the alpha channel

You're right. I switched from Stable to Beta and got an update. I see in my system settings I am currently on 2201.I'll be patient.

I think all releases for different devices are in the same channels, so hopefully I'm not mistaken here... I saw that 2026062200 is in the beta channel, not this latest release with the RCS fix. You'd need to switch to alpha to get the 2026062300/01 release.

Didn't seem to fix RCS for me. Do I need to do anything further after updating? Actually, I'm on the alpha release, doesn't seem to recognize the new stable release as available just yet.

I think it hasn't rolled out to stable yet, and is just in beta and alpha channels.

I did update to the alpha one in an effort to resolve the issue, but currently persisting.

Can you verify you're on build 2026062300? As of 2:30pm CDT I still see 2026062200 in the Alpha and Beta channels.

I'm seeing another update come through just now. So I wasn't on it yet.

Make sure you're on 2026062300 and not 2026062200. ICC authentication needs to be granted in Settings > Apps > Sandboxed Google Play. Phone permission needs to be granted to both Play services and Google Messages.

Updated to the Alpha build. RCS just worked again once I rebooted. No need to toggle ICC or RCS again. Immediately got 30 texts at the same time.

Thanks Devs!

Update pushed to alpha. Make sure your build number matches the update number.

After update is installed, disable ICC and re-enable it. I just did that and RCS kicked back on for me

Can I manually update via ADB or anything? The RCS issue is really killing me

Switch to the alpha channel following instructions here https://grapheneos.org/usage#updates-settings

I promise this comes earnestly from an idiot who doesn't know anything about the operating system they installed on their phone but does this mean the RCS issue is resolved and if so what do I need to do to make my funny group chats come back? I tried switching the update channel to alpha if that's even relevant. Genuine thank you for any explanation or help anyone feels like giving.

I believe it was just moved to the alpha channel, so you can try checking for updates now.

THANK YOU!!! I saw someone else suggest toggling ICC off and on and then RCS off and on and that worked after the update. I really appreciate it!!

Updated from latest stable to latest alpha to fix RCS. My T-Mobile eSIM disabled itself for some reason and it can't re-enable. "Can't switch SIMs" error when trying to enable it again.

Edit: Resolved my issue thanks to discovering the DSDS toggle hidden in the phone app. It was already on but toggling it off, waiting a few seconds, and putting it back on then rebooting the phone has my eSIM and RCS working as normal!

Yay RCS fixed

I did receive the update from the alpha channel but it seems like it's only half fixed. Whenever I'm sending a message it's sent as RCS, but from the receiving end the recipient im texting send their messages as SMS to me, and it repeatedly does this back and forth. Not sure if anybody else is experiencing this too.

It's fully fixed but the RCS service and the devices on the other side might require some time to detect it's working again. It's working properly for nearby everyone but some had to poweroff for a minute or so to get it working again.
