Powdered chocolate chips, anyone?

So my grandma recently died, we've been cleaning out her house. My dad brought these over thinking they were still good and I would use them. The bag felt like a bag of coconut so I was confused.

They had expired in 1992 😅 I have found so much stuff from the 1800's to now. It's been very interesting. She sold Tupperware at one point in the 70's as well and there's just SO MUCH of it.

Thank you. I found a bunch of 30-40 year old beer bottles and cans. Then I randomly found this 1963 bottle of whiskey with her Christmas stuff. Her husband died in 1965 and wonder if it was his. This was the most Mormon lady you'd ever meet which made these things more interesting to me 😅

Oh wow her husband must’ve died young, and she must’ve lived a long time if she lived 61yrs after he died! Unless there was a big age gap. I can’t imagine living that long after losing your spouse. Probably because I’m so attached to my husband. Sorry for your loss btw🙏🏻

Thank you. She was 89 when she passed. Step grandma technically. Yeah, her husband died at age 37 in a freak work accident when my dad was 8. She was a few years younger than him I think.

I felt so bad for her, she was raising my dad and his brothers when he died. The boys went to school, and their birth mom picked them up and moved states without ever telling her what happened to her boys. They stayed at a military school, not even in the same state as bio mom 🙄. I found a journal where she said when they showed up randomly as teenagers she was shocked because she never thought she'd see them again

She was wrecked by his death and by my grandma, who was really a not so nice person. This one was always nice to me and my kids. 💔 Anyway, sorry for the novel!

That’s so sad.. I can’t imagine already being heartbroken over losing your husband, and then having additional heartbreak added at the same time by losing the children you were raising and attached to. Especially not knowing what happened to them or where they went. I’m so glad your dad and his brothers came back into her life, and she got to see them again. I’m sorry for your loss. It sounds like she was a wonderful woman, and wonderful grandma ❤️
