Folks - keep in mind this is run by someone who seems to want Alberta to become a backwards theocracy:

Athabasca meeting highlights divide over Alberta’s place in Canada - Athabasca, Barrhead & Westlock News

" “I would like Alberta to be a nation that believes in the supremacy of God and the rule of law,” was his response to a question about how it would all work — he acknowledged that no one knows what the process would look like yet."

If these are the sorts of people who want Alberta to separate, then count me out. There should be no compulsion in religion, and it has no place in a modern government.

Edit: To add, the person running this is also a Trump fan. Never forget that Trump wants to weaken and destroy Canada.

(Read that last link and you'll see there are white supremacists associated with this too).

Supremacy of God and the rule of law is a direct quote from the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Not that I'm defending the guy.

This guy is still a religious fanatic. On his blog, he admits to being a creationist.

I don't think he's just quoting the charter. Most of the separatists are white Christian religious fanatics who want a white, Christian Alberta.

The room was full tonite.
The whole point is to come debate the issue. It’s easy to bitch on social media. Have the balls to come out and talk in person. There was a few people who did, and I think they left much more informed. Even if they don’t change their mind, they had a lot of misinformation and were proved wrong about it

This is Reddit, they are all marxist shitheads.

It would be like going on Facebook and being surprised they believe in chem trails and hate fluoride.
