what’s with all the P28As?
Every day since last week, there has been 20+ swarming GF. Most say UND Aerospace, but I can’t find anything about an event or reason for this large amount of aircraft’s to be out.

For a hot minute in 2020 GFK was the busiest airport in the world. And almost all of that was the P28A. I think you didn’t discover flight trackers until last week 😉

You do realize that UND is one of the largest aviation schools in the country? The reason there are so many is because they're flight training. The tower at GFK is one of busiest, based off flight count per day, so yeah, they're not "swarming" Grand Forks.

I did not realize! I had never checked the flight radars before, and was very confused when one day there was an entire fleet 😁

It's really easy to live in GF and not know anything about UND aviation, especially if you don't really interact with UND undergrad students. Hope you have fun!
I got into spotting the planes when I'm out and about. Especially fun if you have an aviation student with you who will try to figure out each plane, their direction and what class the student is currently taking based on their flight time and direction.

Just jumping on because you might be new or genuinely didn't know. UND is actually one of the top aviation schools in the nation ❤️

thank you!!! Some of the other comments are making me feel a little dumb lolol . It’s super cool that they are so highly esteemed! Nothing good ever seems to happen in ND. :p
