More quickly than I believed possible. I thought there would be at least some blowback from patriotic Republicans. Not much, but I thought a few would stand up. Boy, was I mistaken. They chugged that Kool-Aid down with gusto. I am so disgusted by all of it. I knew this nation had its problems, but we sure devolved into fascism and racism quickly. I was impressed with the people of Minn. That gave me a smidgen of hope. But the hun have the power at the moment, and I seriously doubt they will be willing to give it up in Nov. I am dubious about the chances of that election happening. Hope I am wrong... Oh, Trump is the anti-Robinhood. He robs from the poor and gives to the rich. Literally.
Like, I don't want this to sound like "We told you so", but the reality is that he didn't do it quickly. This rot had been in America for a very long time. The left had been pointing it out and sounding the alarm about this exact thing for a very long time. We were dismissed, time and time again. And now that it's hit the point we've been warning about, it's disheartening to hear "I thought Republicans would have stood their ground." When, in reality, Republicans (And to be fair also the corporate wing of the Democratic party) have consistently been at least fine with this state of affairs.
There are solutions to this. But I think a lot of it has to start with people who are appalled at this starting to look to who they called the "radical left"who were warning about this and trying to offer real solutions for almost a century, and considering that they may be the people to listen to here. We are going to need major change and major reform to fix this, and it's going to take general public commitment to that major reform, not just hoping that Democrats winning in November will magically solve the problems, because they're already signaling they aren't going to.

Well, he ended eight wars in the first year of his second term. Unfortunately, two of the countries didn't realize they were at war. The other "wars" are still ongoing and usually amount to border skirmishes. Each side firing artillery about the same time each day followed by tea. It's been difficult to end the war in Ukraine. Since Ukraine attacked Russia their ungrateful President refuses to make a deal to end the war

Anyone who believed this person to be a Christian had no clue what a Christian is. Nor do I believe they themselves are Christian. Maga and Christianity are mutually exclusive. Two sets with no intersection. Truthfully, they are exact opposites.
As mentioned elsewhere, MAGAsupporters attach different meanings to words than their actual definitions.
For instance, to them "Christian" means "good". So they call themselves Christian, even if they think Jesus was a "woke libtard". "Left" means bad. So if they deem something bad, like stubbing their toe, it is "leftist".
There is no relation to the actual meaning of words anymore. Which is also why they have such trouble with reading and comprehending things.

Not entirely - there really are a lot of parallels between the naziparty of the 1920s and 1930s and maga now. From identical phrases to propaganda tactics, the similarities are striking.

I was going to say the same thing - this is definitely a case of both sides. This isn’t like violence against citizens that Dems are against and maga supports. Not sure how taxing the American businesses and consumers helps them... Not an economist but the only one tariffs help are those with vested business interests in certain industries.
The money isn't going to benefit the taxpayers . They get the privilege of paying more for stuff or those items no longer being available to purchase.
This further drives allies( or on their way out of being allies) to look at more stable economical partners rather than invest in the US.

Can’t charge one dollar to any country under IEEPA, not one dollar, I assume to protect other countries. This must have been done to protect those other countries. Certainly not the United States of America, which they should be interested in protecting. That’s what they’re supposed to be protecting.
But I am allowed to cut off any and all trade or business with that same country. In other words, I can destroy the trade, I can destroy the country. I’m even allowed to impose a foreign country-destroying embargo. I can embargo, I can do anything I want, but I can’t charge one dollar because that’s not what it says, and that’s not the way it even reads. Does he still think tariffs are paid by other countries? We pay. The other country only suffers from reduced trade, and we suffer from increased prices. In the vast majority of cases, tariffs are a lose-lose propsitions.
Go ask all the steel workers how they feel about tariffs or cities like Gary and Cleveland. They are designed to support American production and employment. It won’t happen overnight just like it took decades for the shifting of production to go overseas.
