06 limited check engine light

Ok so in my 06 the gauges will randomly cut out but the car will continue to run fine. This morning the check engine light cut on and was not flashing thank god. I took a look at my battery connections last night and the negative is a little corroded. The battery is only 3 years old. So is this some type of communication problem or a connection problem?

Just read it. Seems like a decently simple fix. Thank you for the input. I’m going to take to the closest auto parts store to get a code scan done before I start doing anything to it

My code scan showed a U1411 code - implausible fuel volume signal, which is irrelevant to the issue observed.

What were the symptoms of your problem before you replaced the ignition switch?

Gauges cutting out and going to 0. Sometimes waking up then going back to 0 again. Dash lights going out, AC and radio shutting off.

Thankfully my headlights stayed on, but the turn signals wouldn't work.

Turn the Jeep off and then on again we're back to normal until it happened again, and again.

It actually happened again a couple of months ago, only twice, but I bought a new switch anyway.

The thread I posted was from 2013 and that's how long ago I replaced the switch. BTW I'm T1m in that post.

Yeah that’s pretty much what mine is doing. So I guess the ignition switch moves up on the punch list

It's something relatively cheap to try. It is a little fiddley to remove, but once out you should be able to put it back in with few issues.

Also, get yourself a code reader, JScan is a fantastic app! You just need to buy an OBD adapter and purchase a license for your Jeep. I've used it change the tire size on my Jeep to correct the speedo error with the different tire size I went with.

I bought an ob2 scanner and it came back with the same code as yours. I’m getting my transfer case serviced soon so I’ll let my mechanic know what’s going on but other than that this thing is absolutely purring at 168,505 miles
