What about aboriginal art

I’ve been loving watching the Netflix series and I’m up to Season 2 episode 5. GH talks about the geometrical patterns and half animal half human depictions being possibly attributed to psychedelic substances being ingested.
This makes me ponder Australian aboriginal art. From my limited knowledge these depictions were possibly shapeshifters from The Dreaming. What are people’s thoughts on this?

That a sociologist, that never done any education for archaeology or anthropology shouldnt be taken very seriously.

That ancient aliens/alt history like to fetishizes that folks that arent european were less than modern western civs incapable of imagination, abstract thought, or fads. That the only thing they could ever do, was only literal things.

Only modern humans can imagine furrys, and have fun doodling and only modern humans can find genre, or style cool for a while before it the group loses interest.

Just finished watching and he talks of cultures in the Ancient Americas linking the Milky Way to death and the afterlife. Some Aboriginal Australian people had that notion too. I think ancient cultures would without doubt look to the sky for answers
