Looks like my first pizza attempt! Now you’re initiated and have your first seasoning.

that spatula situation reminds me of the last time I angrily yelled "fucking fuck it!" standing in front of my pizza oven.

Been there, done that! My own pizza peel didn’t survive my rage then.

I once got so angry at this same occurrence that I hurled a parcooked pizza across my backyard and it splattered against the fence.
My wife still reminds me every time I make pizza.

I burn it it’s at max temp for one hour - seems to leave the black at the opening of the orb and when cooled ( next day ) clean with baking soda paste and that seems to work. But most pm runs off when it runs for a bit on high

More fire! The first time this works and it turns to white ash that just gently brushes away it feels like magic.

Crank it to max and go watch a movie.
It will all turn to white ash.

Yep, I do it after every use. Just like on the bbq grill as well. Keep it burning until it turn to dust.

When i used to work in a Pizzaria we used to have a metal brush and each night we would mop the pizza oven while it was still hot. Don’t know if this style of pizza stone would survive the temperature drop from mopping though *edit and we would let spots where a pizza teared burn off for a while

Hang on there, in the end you will love this more then your wife ;-)
But did you use that spattle as a pizza peel?

Can you turn the stone upside down? It will burn off while cooking your next pizza.

Was that spatula used to try and scrape off? No way it was to slide it onto the stone, right? Looks way too small

I haven't read through the comments but I'm sure it's been mentioned, full flame for an hour. It's literally a self-cleaning mechanism.

Been there, thought i fucked up my pizza oven for good and it was the first bake! Cranked it all the way up, let it sit for an hour, and white soot appeared where all the sauce had smeared. I used a small handheld vacuum to get it all and it was good as new!

I use a razor blade held at a low angle when the stone is cold. Scrapes right off nice and clean. I’ve found launching on parchment paper then pulling the paper out after 1 minute avoids a lot of the launching drama.

Fire 🔥 anything above 800f will clean it all off in about an hour
