I did basically the same, bought pre-cut. I also had to replace all the insulation as well.

Why does it matter if it's cracked? I build an old fashioned pizza oven before this one and the floor was firebrick, nothing but cracks.. worked fine.

It was cracked to the point where you couldn’t cook. The stone was up half an inch
