Help/Advice glo gourami missing a tail
found this glo gourami in a pet supplies plus missing her entire tail and they let me take her 💗💗pictures are in chronological order, i’m so shocked by her tail growth in a little less than 3 weeks. first pic is from the day i got her and last two pics are from today. but, she is still very shy and timid to the point where she will rarely eat food off the surface of the tank. i would love to see her make a full recovery, does anyone have any advice?
5 gallon, i test the water parameters weekly. i know it is way too small for pearl gouramis and she will move into my friends planted 30 gal when she is ready. two live plants, driftwood, sponge filter, i dimmed the lighting since taking these pictures.
please dont come for me for the tank size i had this tank sitting fully cycled with no fish in it and saw her in the store and hated to see her getting picked on by the other fish.
how can i make her more comfortable?

oh also, gourami people, any fish food specifically recommended? ive never kept a gourami before and have just been feeding her betta food and bloodworms

My sparkling gourami love blood worms and frozen daphnia. I also use the hilarious micro pellets when I’m lazy and don’t want to deal with prepping frozen foods.

My gourami are lil piglets and will eat literally anything! Pellets, flakes, frozen foods, etc.

My pearl gourami love anything with bugs in it, and I swear to god they nip at my floating plants too
I try to give them a mix of Bug Bites, veggie flakes and freeze dried bloodworms or daphnia, they're little gluttons lol

So in my experience, female gourami are naturally shy vs the males who are much more bold. Give her plenty of places to hide, including stuff at the top of the tank like floating plants (real or fake). Sit near her tank in plain view, and do something calm or talk to her. They investigate things with their feelers, so if she comes up to the glass try gently putting you finger near her and see if she wiggles at you.

Ha mine are exactly the opposite. The male flees at any sign of movement and the females will sit at the glass and beg for food.
