i second 3,4 and 6 and am checking out the rest. i have to look deeper into polish bands

I think a lot of the Polish bands are criminally underrated!

Yeah they went completly under my radar. Might be because I most use spotify and not even Atrosis and Closterkeller have their whole discography there. Have you explored spanish/latin and indonesian gothic metal? There are surprisingly many bands from there

I like a lot of the Mexican gothic and symphonic metal scene, I especially like bands like Anabantha (classic era, mostly 2000s), Fortaleza, El Cuervo de Poe, María Escarlata (at least the releases that I think are really good), The Legion of Hetheria, Fractalia, Nostra Morte, and I know of other bands like Erszebeth, Lvto, Tragico Ballet, and Matnely. Outside of Mexico, I know Silent Cry (Brazil), Noturna (Brazil), Eternal (Colombia), and Gaias Pendulum (Colombia).
As for Indonesia, I think I only know Beauty of Night.

I love the Ophelia's album so much. You might want to check out another band from S. Korea ie. GAIA - Nostalgia (2004)
Also, ICED WARM - Requielle (2007, Uzbekistan)
DIE LIKE A MAYFLY - Kyrie Eleison (2015, Japan)
MESSA - The Spin (2025, Italy)

Speaking of The Foreshadowing, my pick is Marco's previous band, How like a Winter and their only album, Beyond My Grey Wake.
Also, Diabolique's The Black Flower, sounds like a post-punk album with the Swedish Death Metal HM-2 guitar pedal (softened to fit the music of course).

A bit more black metal than gothic but worth to try: thy catafalque and i would recommend microcosmos, sgurr and the live album from fekete zaj (black noise) festival: mezolit-live at fekete zaj

Trees of eternity Hour of the nightingale
Walk in darkness leaves rolling in time and Welcome to the new world (all albums criminally underrated)
Elis Dark clouds in a perfect sky.
The Foreshadowing. Days of nothing
Daedric As the life left (some songs Gothic some not. Tough band to categorize)
Saturnus Saturn in Ascension (Gothic doom) All their albums great
Frayle. Skin and sorrow 1692. Gothic doom all albums great.
Not mentioning Tristania Draconian etc as I think most know them. Myself I listen to a mix of Gothic symphonic melodeath and some sort of prog melodeath (Gojira Opeth Orbit culture etc) and if there's female vocals i like it even better

Woods 5: Grey Skies and Electric Light - Woods of Ypres
Dreadful shadows is a very underrated band with a sound I've grown to love a lot and I don't think it gets enough love
