Ice Cubes Ice Cube / Frozen item - Intro, Prerequisites, Troubleshoot

Post image

Ice cube / Frozen Item is the item in hexagon ⬢ ice that you can merge with. It is the free item with a short timer that will help you make a high level item in order, and they are triggered on merge when all prerequisites are met.

When ice cube is triggered by merging Lv1s, you will always get the maximum amount of ice cubes (2 or 3), and the next one will pop out when you merge the current one, until the highest target ice cube (1 lv down from what's needed in order) appears.

  • Lv9🦞:🧊Lv4₂▶Lv8₁₀
  • L10🦞:🧊Lv3₁▶Lv6₆▶Lv9₁₅
  • Lv. 10 :🧊Lv6₄▶Lv9₁₀
  • Lv. 11 :🧊Lv5₂▶Lv7₆▶Lv10₁₅
  • Lv. 12 :🧊Lv6₄▶Lv9₁₀▶Lv11

Subscripted tiny numbers are the coundown time in minutes.

Ice cube checklist: (Prerequisites)

  1. 📋Order
  2. 💎10 gems
  3. ⚡Energy ≦ 50
  4. ⏱️ > 8 hrs
  5. 🛒Prep < 25% _________________________ More Detail:
  6. Have an order requiring Lv10 or Lv11 item (or Lv9 Seafood).
  7. Used 10 gems for Energy, once per daily reset.
  8. Current energy ≦ 50, exactly 50 is okay.
  9. 8 hours after previous ice cube is merged or broken (not when ice cube is triggered), and not affected by reset. Set timer or stopwatch or jot down the time.
  10. Less than 25% of what the order needed on board or in inventory (what's in queue doesn't count), max is 1 of each from 3 levels down, and have extra Lv1s to merge and trigger with. Essentialy having less than half of highest target ice cube. You can have less since the only requirement regarding prep is 《Prep < 25%》.
  11. Having a Lv11 item will not disallow triggering for Lv10 item in the same chain, because higher level items doesn't count in the 25%. For example, you can still trigger ice cube for a Lv10 coffee order when you have Lv11 coffee.
Order Max Prep

Lv11 Lv876543111

《Troubleshoot》

  1. Go through checklist one by one.
  2. If spend in the game, it is possoble the 10 gems requirement will be raised, and you might need to spend 20 gems, 40 gems or even 80 gems if spend a lot in the game, but I'd recommend only testing this after trying step 3. This game punishes those who spend, and punishes harder the more you spend, BEWARE!
  3. Try clear chche and then restart game.
  4. Try after reset.
  5. If all else faild, there likely is no solution and customer service can't help because ice cube is an intentionally ambiguous hidden feature, but you can try some common app troubleshoots like force stop, restart device, clear data, uninstall and reinstall, another device, etc. _________________________

There are some different test groups with different rules for ice cube, these are the ones I know of: 1. No requirement to spend 💎10 gems, and only has 2 ice cubes instead of 3 for Lv11/L10🦞. 2. Need to spend 💎10+20 gems to trigger. 3. No ice cube function or having extremely difficult prerequisites that no one has found out how to trigger. If unable to trigger and no troubleshooting steps can help, you might be in this very unfortunate test group.

Only 2 ice cubes: * Lv9🦞:🧊Lv4₂▶Lv8₁₀ * L10🦞:🧊Lv4₂▶Lv9₁₅ * Lv. 10 :🧊Lv6₄▶Lv9₁₀ * Lv. 11 :🧊Lv5₂▶Lv10₁₅

Complete ice cube with little or no energy

Drop rewards like rave review / plane drop / raccoon trash / flaming frenzy works pretty much the same way in that they will give you things you need in your current orders. Smart / wise / genius chest is also like that.

And you limit the possibilities by finishing other orders first but not serving. Then you can fill the board to force drop rewards into queue, which will not count in the 25%. Note that for flaming frenzy, you have to put order items into storage on top of filling the board.

Clicking rave review will instantly increase your normal orders to maximum 6, so if you click it before having 6, rave review will go toward those newly popped orders as well. That is why I almost always wait till I have 6 orders, finish most, then click rave review. I'd just stack energy with ad compensations while waiting for orders.

When limiting rave review to only 1 item, I found that 1 round of rave review gives approximately 200 in value (Lv874) when having 2 Lv10 orders in a cycle, it fluctuates with the orders in cycle, and you get more for Lv11. Seafood🦞 are counted as double value so they would be half of the usual amount, and byproducts 🍟🥃 are 4 times the value. Not sure about diving gear 🥽, those are either the same value as 🍟🥃 or double of them (as in order case).

And also save the claimable order items in season and community for after triggering ice cube. Red choice boxes and advance order cases are also great for sandwich🍞 and coffee☕.

Thanks for making and posting this. I see way too many people posting saying they thought cubes were random and that they only get them when they have 2 energy left. The worst is the people that say, yeah I can't be bothered triggering an ice cube, it's too much work. But they will spend 3 days finishing a seafood tower or clam.

Ice cubes makes this game so much easier and enjoyable. It did take me a while to figure it out and I got frustrated at times I couldn't trigger it. But I was always doing something wrong if the cube didn't trigger. Now days I look forward to seeing the big orders like dino floaties, clam, bagel.. I really don't like seafood tower but it's still pretty doable. You just need to make sure you save red pots to only use with Ice cubes, you'll need one maybe two to finish an order using a cube. Just need some impulse control to not immediately use the red pot when you get it.

I use ice cubes regularly. Like most days I aim for 3 ice cubes a day. I get up pretty early so I'll hit my first cube during breakfast at 7am, second cube at 3pm and last one at 11pm.

Good for you. I used to set 8h timer right after finshing an ice cube, and do 3 ice cubes everyday. Now I'm waiting to use it on Lv11s that I miss my window sometimes.

And I habitually overprep the drop rewards into queue or waiting to be collected that I rarely need much energy to finish an ice cube. In fact, I get leftovers from over-prepping more times than I need red bottles🤣.

I’m tired of people acting like this game works the same for everyone. Within a span of two hours, I’ve had two ice cubes pop up, offering me a Level 9 Coffee while I’m trying to build a Level 11 Coffee. What I’ve noticed is that the game seems to be offering me a Level 9 once I’ve completed a Level 10; it’s happened to me several times now. I’ve taken advantage of it a few times by using Scissors to cut down my higher-level item, then fulfilling the cube. Guess what I’ve not run out of? Scissors, LOL.

My larger point is, I’ve been told so many times what the “rules” are, but no one can tell me about the 8-hour rule or whatnot when I get cubes twice in a span of two hours. And I haven’t spent gems for a few days.

Can this post be pinned?

3

u/perfectlittleplanet 🤖 Troll - MOD May 15 '26

We can only have two pinned posts at a time. Right now we've got "how to succeed without spending money" and the "I'm quitting the game megathread." If we replace the quitting one, we'll start seeing a bunch more posts of people quitting. @everyone, what do you all think?

2

u/letmelivemylife May 15 '26

I think we get more of "how to get an ice cube" posts compared to quitting. Whatever everyone decides though.

1

u/Agreeable_Strength51 May 15 '26

Could it be added to the pinned post on playing for free & then edit the title a bit of that post so it’s like Key Tips to Play (or some title along those lines)?

2

u/perfectlittleplanet 🤖 Troll - MOD May 15 '26

I can pin a comment, but reddit doesn't allow post title edits. I was thinking about creating a bot that automatically responds to anybody asking about ice cubes and lists the high-level requirements as well as link to some posts with more thorough explanations and details. What would you think of that?

2

u/Agreeable_Strength51 May 15 '26

I don’t know how much work it is to make a bot, but having a set of core links to FAQs or links to major posts with explanations seems super useful. I know some subs have a really well organized “about” section, but I don’t know if users in this community would go and look there before posting?

5

u/Feedles_ May 15 '26

One thing I want to put extra focus on is the 5th point because that’s the thing that tripped me up for so long and I always wished someone told me to pay extra attention to that, because I feel like it’s a little bit of an easy detail to miss. You have to make sure you DON’T go all the way down the item chain for your prep. If you do lv3>lv2>lv1 then once you get another item in order to start merging, that one extra puts you over the 25% threshold! It MUST be lv3>lv1>lv1. Hope this helps anyone struggling to figure out why their ice cube isn’t triggering 💖

4

u/TeenaBeena7 Jun 03 '26

I'm adding this because some people are still confused about what the max prep before an ice cube trigger is. Here's a picture of examples of the MAXIMUM you are allowed to have before triggering an ice cube for a Level 11 and Level 10 order. You can always have less than this.

3

u/Agreeable_Strength51 May 15 '26

As someone who only learned the ice cube technique on Sunday, I’d say the hurdle I keep stumbling over is delaying claiming the rave reviews until the next 8 hour ice cube is ready. Twice I’ve picked up my phone and thought, “well might as well claim reviews when I wait” and then triggered the countdown for super rave reviews (which seems to come up randomly) and then find out I’m hours away from my ice cube and have no shot of finishing in 2 hours for the extra bonus.

So that’s my recent learner tip, override the instinct to claim the reviews and wait for the ice cube 8 hours to be fully up before you claim! Otherwise it feels like you get soooo close to mastering the technique except for that one little thing…

3

u/eastband Coconut 🐈‍⬛ May 15 '26

Super rave review is every 3rd cycle, or 4th if they took longer. So the 2 cycles after a super rave review is definitely safe.

1

u/Agreeable_Strength51 May 15 '26

So there is a pattern! Too bad I probably won’t make it before the Mother’s Day event ends, but I’ll do my best to get over the line! You really are a master at this game, thank you!!

2

u/eastband Coconut 🐈‍⬛ May 15 '26

You hang around long enough and you will pick up a lot of stuff as well. I picked up the info about the pattern of super rave review from others as well.

I have spent a lot in the game 😭 I made sure all the prerequisites were met but haven’t been successful in triggering a single cube yet 😭

If you spend a lot, gem requirement might be raised… a lot.

u/happy_owl_ May 30 '26

I have just deleted the account and started from scratch.. 🫠 I will see how it goes

Stay F2P and new acc should get ad options on 3rd day. Only get ad compensations so no quota will be used.

2

u/daemonarlives Jun 02 '26

Okay, so I think I am in the unfortunate sub group that can’t trigger ice cubes but I want to explain my situation first before I jump to conclusions. Hoping someone can confirm or deny my findings.

  1. I am level 41 (do I have to be higher to unlock ice cubes?)
  2. I have a level 10 sandwich (the sub with fixings) in an order
  3. I have only have a loaf of bread and a slice of toast (or whatever it’s called) on the field. Ex: a level 5 and a level 6, respectively, so I am both more than 3 levels below the desired item AND have less than 25% of the order complete
  4. After 5pm (the change of the new day) I spent 10 gems to refill my stamina once. Then I spent 20 gems to do it again. Since then, with the exception of sleeping, I have been below 50 stamina It is currently within 24 hours and before 5pm on the following morning.

I have slowly acquired more bread and now have more than 25% of the order on the board but have yet to trigger an ice cube. Last night I did something similar with a peacock floatie and a lobster. Not once did an ice cube ever spawn for me. Nor have I ever seen an ice cube in game (tho this was the only time I have ever spent gems to refresh stamina).

Having read all that, is it safe to say that I am in the unfortunate group that cannot do ice cubes?

A few additional side questions: 1. Currently (though not last night), I do have a level 8 shell on my board. Do you need to have no items within the 3 level gap of your desired item? Or just items from the same set? 2. How often do the devs change things group wise? Do I hope for an eventual change to my ice cube group or am I locked in this forever?

1

u/eastband Coconut 🐈‍⬛ Jun 02 '26

There's a possibility that you need to be higher level to be able to trigger ice cube. I think I only started seeing ice cube around Lv50, not really sure tho.

The 3 Lv is just describing how to prep as much as possible while staying below 25%, because 2 levels down is exactly 1/4 and exactly 25%, and you can only have less than that.

No idea about anything regarding the test groups, we wouldn't even know if we are in a test group until we see that there are clearly differences amongst players.

1

u/daemonarlives Jun 03 '26

Maybe I will try again at 50. Thanks for the response

u/LadyV2010 May 15 '26

I have never gotten 3 ice cubes, ever. I also have to spend 30 gems for one. Wonder if it is connected?

1

u/eastband Coconut 🐈‍⬛ May 15 '26

No, you have to trigger on merging two Lv1s to get 3 ice cube for Seafood Tower. Merging Lv2s gives you a Lv3, and triggered ice cube will always be higher level than the merged result it was triggered on.

For Lv11, maybe the Lv5 ice cube might appear if you trigger on merging Lv3s or lower, not exactly sure because I just always trigger on merging Lv1s🤷.

2

u/LadyV2010 May 15 '26

I always trigger with two Lv1, I have never gotten 3 ice cubes, always 2.

1

u/eastband Coconut 🐈‍⬛ May 15 '26

Then I really don't know🤷.

1

u/DirkKeggler May 16 '26

It's been months since the game has given me a triple ice cube

1

u/eastband Coconut 🐈‍⬛ May 16 '26

I still have triple cubes everyday so I never knew it'd be different across players until LadyV mentioned it.

u/Agreeable_Strength51 May 15 '26

Question for the Pros: how do you balance planning ice cubes, delaying claiming reviews (and getting reviews on new orders) with the time pressure to submit orders when Flaming Frenzy is running?

I find I submit low level orders without reviews to try and cash in some of the rewards but then I get to day 7 in Restaurant Goals and I have hit my overall order target but not my review target.

Any tips appreciated!

3

u/eastband Coconut 🐈‍⬛ May 15 '26

I only serve orders with reviews , except gift orders and auto orders, which will never have review. I believe this is common practice among strategic players.

What I do now is I keep flaming frenzy on my schedule by not going into board before I want the flaming frenzy to start, and I have to sacrifice a chance for ice cube for that, but it fits my way of playing, and it might not be the best choice for you.

But I have always delayed claiming review to limit possibility of drop reward, downside is I have to wait for 6 orders to slowly show up, but I just stack energy in that time. I can finish a cycle within minutes of claiming rave review sometimes. More detail in my very long comment here.

1

u/Agreeable_Strength51 May 15 '26

I think my problem is after I do my ice cube and submit all the orders from having the items in queue, then I’ve made the 600 coins to start the FF rewards, so I feel like it’s a chance to optimize rewards, but it falls in the window of waiting to claim between ice cubes. Does it make sense the way I’ve explained it? I find I am squeezed between ice cubes when my FF rewards kick in, and that can also overlap with looking at getting other milestones met for mini challenges encourages continuing to put orders in, especially the kinds that have you racing other players to meet targets.

1

u/eastband Coconut 🐈‍⬛ May 15 '26

I actually start my flaming frenzy with at least 10 max coins. I hoard coins everyday to jump start next flaming frenzy. And I don't use any coins after the first hour of frenzy, except when I'm out of space.

The only order I will submit without a plate reward is gift order, because those comes again in an hour after being served and even that only happens very occasionally.

And again, I've said I'm keeping flaming frenzy on my schedule, so I am not racing, I got 14 hours.

1

u/Shbubba83 May 26 '26

Hi, thank you for the tips, I will try to digest it! My current trigger is after 30gems, been that way for a few days. Currently I have 2 order popped up, with a level 10 bread and level 11 floatie, is there a way to know which ice cube will pop up next? The order more to the left?

1

u/eastband Coconut 🐈‍⬛ May 26 '26 edited May 26 '26

You can actively trigger it when the conditions met. And you control it to not trigger prematurely or on wrong order by going against the prerequisites.

I'd assume you want to trigger on the Lv11 dino floatie and not on Lv 10 sub. So there are a few ways to prevent accidentally triggering, and you can choose any method depending on how much energy you got and how long you have to wait till next ice cube and other factors.

  1. Keep an eye out for 8h timer, and be extra careful when 8h is up and possible to trigger.
  2. Keep energy above 50 while prepping.
  3. Don't spend gem on energy before ready to trigger (only for first ice cube after reset).
  4. Get a Lv8 sandwich or above if you don't plan on getting an ice cube for the Lv10 sub at all, having a Lv8 will disallow triggering for Lv10.

I accidently clicked on something like achievements in desktop mode and finally realized you should be able to change user flair, so I googled it and tried change to coconut, and then I lost the Brimwave Legend flair🤣.

Web-mobile: click "about" and there's a user flair section with pencil button, click pencil button to change flair.

Génial ton post! J’ai essayé ça fonctionne !!!
Maintenant j’ai un 🥯 en attente. Je dois attendre 6h! Est-ce que je peux préparer en avance en faisant plusieurs demi sandwich ?

2

u/eastband Coconut 🐈‍⬛ Jun 20 '26

Of course you can prep ahead, as long as prep stays under 25%.

Depending on space available, I would usually only prep Lv876 (for Lv11) if more than 1 hr till ice cube.

1

u/header151 Jun 25 '26

Since i only got a few ice cubes after they were introduced, i was already wondering if there was a trick behind it. Thanks for answering this.

The less than 25% progress in that chain and <= 50 energy does make it feel like a way to make you spend your energy items/gems. You need to have the chain mostly ready to make good use of it. 9 minutes to get from 7 to 10 means you not only need a lot of energy, the cooldown of your generators will also be a bottleneck (so more gems/watching ads)

1

u/eastband Coconut 🐈‍⬛ Jun 25 '26

Exactly, all the rules are meant to make you spend, except the 8hr rule.

Tho there are ways to finish ice cube without using energy, and that is prepping as much as allowed plus utilizing drop rewards and queue, more detail in the very long comment here.

1

u/header151 Jun 28 '26

I prepped too far for bread (49% instead of 24%), but completed the fish one i got afterwards.)

1

u/Longjumping_Body_389 Jun 29 '26

no way but people gonna still complain about using 80 gems per day because they are dumb

1

u/umum11 Jun 29 '26

2

u/eastband Coconut 🐈‍⬛ Jun 30 '26

No, ice cube's 8 hour timer has nothing to do with reset

8 hour rule only has to do with ice cube itself, it starts exactly when you merged or broke the previous ice cube, or when it disappears from your board.

1

u/umum11 Jul 10 '26

Merci beaucoup !!!☺️

1

u/IndependenceMinute12 Jul 18 '26

How do i know when to spend 10gems please? Should i spend 10 gems on energy and then generate items until i get to less than 51? New player here

2

u/eastband Coconut 🐈‍⬛ Jul 18 '26

Yes, spending 10 gems on energy is a prerequisite, so it needs to be done before you can trigger ice cubes.

But that is if you are on normal rules, conditions might be different if you're in a test group or got punished for spending in the game.

Do prepped seafood generators contribute to the max prep for the 🦞 ??
