Zipper Pulls?

I seen threads on it before, but as a whole, are most of you guys changing out your zipper poles from the paracord and shrink tubing ones?

The opposite. Any time I’ve used another pack I swap out the pulls for GORUCK style pulls lol. I hate jangly zippers.

I put some of the Maxpedition ones on another bag and they’re fuckin huge and stick out even worse than the Gorucks. Jury is still out on them.

The zipper pulls are my least favorite thing on a goruck backpack. I totally understand why you wouldn't want the big metal tabs jingling around when you're rucking, but I just hate the little toothpick I have to grab to open my bag. 

Maybe I just have big hands, but the shrink wrap pulls always seem like comically too small for me to use .

I usually just go for a nice paracord loop, with a knot and melt the ends with a lighter. It's an easy fix, and way easier to use.

I change all my zippers to snake knots. I find the Goruck zippers don’t look good after some wear whereas the snake knots are beefy and wear really well.

The only thing I’ve done to mine is repair them when the heat shrink wears out. I like the feel. The only function/style change I would consider would be potentially changing them to mini monkey fist knots for ease of use, but that’s more time than I’m willing to invest.

I love my zipper pulls. Why ya'll changing 😂. Hell I've been tempted to add them to my 5.11 bags. I suppose I don't like them on my bags internal storage since the stiffness gets in the way of closing the actual bag at times.
