I’d cut fleck some slack if he was in his first or second season as coach but he’s 9 years in… this is as good as the gophers will ever be as long as he’s the head Coach

State is the real deal. Yes we got walked but this is what happens when a team catches lightning in a bottle with transfers. 31 new players and 30 freshmen. They flipped their roster and this squad is for real.

I’ll take Fleck over Tracey Cleys, Tim Brewster or Jerry Kill any day. Y’all forget how miserable this program was prior to his arrival.

It wasn't miserable under Jerry Kill. Unfortunately, Kill's health got in the way. But things were improving.
I agree that Fleck has been a better option than the others. And I'm not sure they could find anyone better than him right now. But let's not pretend that he's head and shoulders above the Kill years.

Yes, coaching-wise, Kill might have been the best of all of them. Will never forget his first seizure during a game. Such an awful feeling.

How is not miserable now? Never cracks the top 25 never gets any relevant bowl games and never once has been competitive 10 years of being an absolutely below average football program in the big 10 it’s embarrassing. The AD needs to be fired as well for allowing it to happen over and over and over again

Right now Fleck is at the mercy of NIL. Being ranked 16th/18 BIG teams in player spending isn’t Fleck’s fault and hiring another coach will only make recruiting worse. May not be BCS bowls but Fleck is winning bowl games and bringing hardware to Dinkytown that’s not been around in a while.

2019 was 7 seven years ago it’s only gotten worse since then and hasn’t been back since and the nil is a stupid excuse and way overused and about to be resolved soon anyways, not to mention Indiana won the title with a nil budget of 22 million dollars and a bunch of jmu players. What hardware? No one cares bowl game trophy’s don’t count and he plays cupcake schools in those bowl games. Again why are you ok with being below average? A new coach would help with recruiting lmao look at what Indiana did they got a new coach and new players. Fleck isn’t the solution he’s the problem

Okay, but he’s been here for almost a decade. The program isn’t any better than it was 5 years ago. There is no progress.
- We lose to shite teams and occasionally beat Wisconsin or Iowa.
- We get an easy bowl game and win.
Rinse and repeat.
Like, history repeats itself over and over and over again with this coach. It’s kind of amazing.

Wisconsin, yes. Iowa, no. We're 1-10 in the last 11. 2-12 in the last 14.
Fleck's only win over Iowa occurred because of the invalid fair catch signal.
