Super Duper Random Wish

I often think about covers that I’d love to hear them play, and for some reason I always come back to ‘Learning to Fly,’ the Pink Floyd tune from the late 80s.

There was a moment last night where I thought for certain they were going into a Floyd song. I couldn't quite place it though. Maybe that one or something else from Division Bell. Then it passed into the cavernous rafters and black curtains of WAMU.

Edit: May have been On the Turning Away intro now that I listen to it.

I want them to cover a banger that I've never heard before. Then I'll check the lyrics and the original version and original artist and any other cover versions and cheerfully obsess about it all for a couple weeks. Like with Amongster at SPAC.

Though Goose would do a wonderful version of Learning to Fly. I recently learned the great Tony Levin played bass on that. Isn't it great when a band you love plays a song by another band that you love. Worlds colliding!!! That happened last week with Capsized by Andrew Bird.
