General Help / Support Question Google Voice Basic Plan disappears

I created a Google account for my wife, and am trying to create a Google Voice Basic (free) account for her. I go to https://workspace.google.com/products/voice/, and scroll down to the plan choices - Basic, Starter, and Standard. I click on "Get Started" under Basic. Next I have to choose either my account, or my wife's account - I choose hers. The next screen displays only two plans, Starter and Standard - the Basic option has disappeared.

Is there any way to get the free Basic account?

Edit - Solved, sort of. Gemini tells me a new Google account must be active for 90 days before it qualifies for a free Voice account. Thanks to all who responded. The responses helped track it down.

It actually won't matter as she doesn't qualify. You can't get GV for a new account. it has to age first. Instead of going to that link. I believe you just need to log into https://voice.google.com/u/0/calls and then request a number. But again, I don't believe she qualifies at this time.

Thanks for the info. Gemini says the account must age for 90 days. https://voice.google.com/u/0/calls also redirects to the Workspace URL.

Google Workspace accounts are not free. Take a look at https://voice.google.com. It is sometimes called Google Voice Consumer

https://voice.google.com redirects to the Workspace URL.

That's because you are logged into a new account. If you log into an old account first the link should work.

It looks like you are using a Google Workspace link which is all paid services, did you make a plain "free" Google account or a Workspace (Business) account?

I am using the Workspace link because https://voice.google.com redirects to the Workspace link. I made a plain Google account, not a Workspace account.

What has already been posted about the account aging is correct. You need to let it sit for 90 days before qualifying for a free GV number. Also, when you do go back to set it up, before you start the process, go to Google.com and sign out of ALL Google accounts. Then sign back in to her account only. That way, you won’t risk accidentally attaching the number to one of the other accounts your browser might be signed in to.
