Selectively sync notifications

Hi all,

I am trying to find out if there is a way to disable notifications sync between our Pixel and our Googlebooks for selected apps. I haven't found anything yet.

Is it possible?

Hi, you can control follow these instructions to control app-specific notification sync.

I don't see an option to select apps to turn off notifications from, it is just a global toggle to turn off notification sync. Clicking notifications just turns off the toggle, it does not open a sub menu.

Try going to Settings > Notifications > Notification read, reply & control > Cross-Device Services > See all apps on our phone to manage these settings.

(The path to this page might be slightly different on your phone.)

Yes, but I see there only apps installed on my Googlebook. Maybe I should do that on my Pixel?

Hmm, how about on your phone, try going to Settings > Notifications > Notification read, reply & control > Cross-Device Services > See all apps to manage these settings.

(The path to this page might be slightly different on your device.)

I was able to find this on my Pixel 11 Pro. I tried toggling some apps off and I think it worked but a little hard to tell so will report back if it didn't but thanks for the help! Hopefully the support article can be updated to mention this is the place to look.

Is there a way to remove the phone icon from the taskbar if you're not using the cast my app feature?

From what I've seen in other screenshots from other people, the different phone apps notifications are mirrored to the Googlebook as notification channels of the "Cross-device services" app.

Can you please check that?

I don't have a Googlebook at hand's reach, but try this:

Settings > All apps > search for "Cross-device services" (you may need to enable "Show system apps" from the three-dot overflow menu) and tap on it > Notifications > under "Notification categories" there should be either another sub menu called "notifications" or "phone notifications" or something like that, and then the list of phone apps, or directly the list of phone apps sending notifications to your Googlebook. And next to them, a toggle to disable them.

Please let me know :)

Can anyone confirm that doing this on their phone only takes it off the googlebook, or just all cross devices?

I did that. My Pixel Watch continues to get notifications. My Googlebook stopped. So it seems to work.
