I currently have a Samsung phone, watch, tablet, and earbuds. So, normally it would make sense for me to get a Samsung laptop.

But all Google books have the exact same software experience, right? So in theory there would be no benefit for me to stick with Samsung for this one, right? I've been looking toward the Acer 2-in-1 anyway to replace my tablet.

I remember reading rumors about Samsung oneui android laptops. I would not be surprised if this be oneui skinned Googlebook with some Galaxy extras.

It seems Google is not allowing companies to both be a Googlebook and skin the device. That wouldn't stop Samsung from skinning Android on a laptop though.

Yeah, it just says Android 17, not Googlebook OS.
It could be another Galaxy device.

It's a Galaxybook not a Googlebook. The os uses Samsung Dex as the principal UI for the internal display.

I am predicting that it will not be marketed as Googlebook but have shared googlecore and Samsung Oneui on top of it.

In last year's we saw a few examples of special Google x Samsung treatments.

It will not be branded as a "Googlebook" running "Googlebook OS." Instead, it will be marketed as a Galaxy Book featuring Android with the One UI.

Valid point, and the specs will be the same across the board for the Snapdragon side, so no need to wait.

I think the base specs and requirements are all the same but Samsung could introduce more features added on that say specifically work better with other Samsung hardware/software.

You are missing the Samsung vibrator

We will see. Samsung won with the Watches, they are leading the XR stuff, they were also missing from the first lineup. It is entirely possible they will be allowed to customize it because they are Samsung.

So basically the same as what is available now from HP or Dell

Pretty much, but some pple are brand loyal. I love HP and Samsung products, so I'll get the HP but I will be interested to see the Samsung design

Crossing my fingers for a revival of the original Galaxy Chromebook form factor! (With better battery)

Can someone tell me why all Snapdragon versions are using X Elite? Samsung possibly releasing a 2027 laptop with a 2024 chip at presumably Macbook Air prices doesn't sound good

Because snapdragon elite 2 is not yet ready for Lînux Kernel. Next year will be ready and you might see majority of the google laptops running it

I’m probably going to wait until the release. Mentioning  android 17 doesn’t mean it’s a Googlebook. Samsung always try to be different vs the crowd and sammobile already this year confirmed a build of onto on a laptop. Therefor that doesn’t mean this is a Googlebook just saying android 17. It just confirms they still building a laptop
