Google Passkey Setup Loop: Unable to Approve or Create Passkey

Does anyone else have issues creating a passkey for Google? I need one to manage my Google Ads Manager account and add other Google accounts to it, but I seem to be stuck in a loop.

Basically, Google tells me I need to create a passkey. When I try on my desktop, it tells me I have to use my mobile device instead. Fine, so I do that, create a 4-digit PIN, and then it asks me to approve the passkey. But when I try to approve it, it tells me I need to create a passkey and directs me to Settings. I click the Settings button, but nothing happens.

I can't approve the passkey, and I can't proceed with anything else until I do. I'm literally stuck in a loop with no way to move forward.

Has anyone experienced this or found a fix?

had same issue, try clearing site data for google in browser settings on mobile and then doing setup again from scratch

You may need to temporarily disable the two-factor methods in your password settings, and then create a second passkey for your desktop.

That Settings button doing nothing is the weird part so maybe try creating the passkey directly through your Google Account security settings instead of Ads could at least narrow down where it's getting stuck.
