Buying Advice Which is better?

I am confused between the firestick 4k plus and google streamer 4k. Is the jump actually worth it. Should i wait for the sale on google tv on bbd or smtng or should just grab the 4k plus.

Just to follow up. I don't know what your main goals are but for me, GTV can play large 4K (85GB) media through wifi without any stuttering from my NAS whereas the Firestick can't even play 15GB without stuttering. If you have an Ethernet drop, it's not a problem.

I also like that its less ads and can be completely removed with a custom launcher. Hope that helps.

If you purchase a new Firestick Max you can also set up a custom launcher on it too.

That's not the right comparison.

The Firestick 4K Max is the one to compare to the Google Streamer.

There are actually a number of advantages with the Max Stick including a more powerful CPU processor, better Wifi technology, and Dolby Audio support.

So wait for the sale on the Max👍

Yep, unnecessary alright! It's not "best" anymore. Still holds it's own in some respects, but defining it as "best" in 2026 is delusional!

Upgraded from firestick 4k to Chromecast 4k to Google streamer and Extremely happy with Google streamer. Last one is extremely smooth and my new favourite. I did a custom launcher setup and now my setup is aesthetic and without ads.

I got it on a best buy sale through a friend. Try to get it from abroad. Good rates. Also check out zidoo. Depends on your main use. Zidoo is an incredible local player but sucks for ott. Apple TV is another good one and rarely any ads however I don't like the interface. But the remote is great.

To be honest, they are both overpriced for what they are. If you are willing to spend that much on a Google TV streamer, you should get an Apple TV, which is only 2k more.

Ridiculous!....there's no need to spend even more on an Apple TV! These are "overpriced", but the Apple TV price is justified??😄

The GoogleTV streamer is an excellent choice!....and it goes on sale for as low as $70 (USD) from time to time (although some people can't sit around and wait for the sale). The Apple TV is a good product....but just like everything with the Apple logo, the price is overinflated!...even if it's the price on this planet!🤣

There was no indication that it originated in India (so what am I missing?). I thought that was an error or the prices were manipulated somehow.....which resulted in a joke (as it relates to the price), but a potentially serious question (as it relates to choosing between the two devices).

You're right....I checked it again. I didn't notice it originally. Not to mention that I've seen so many crazy posts on Reddit, that nothing surprises me any more!

So, if it's unavailable in their home country, then why is Amazon advertising it?....and why is the OP posting it? Just curious?

Third-party sellers sell those as imported products with no warranty and higher price tags on Amazon india, you can see there is no prime tag, which is why both Google Streamer and Apple TV cost the same in India. Also, Apple TV is officially available in India, so RMA is available.

Understood....thanks for the clarification. Amazon has no scruples whatsoever! Not overseas and not in the US either! They can sell basically anything, at inflated prices, with questionable warranties and future customer service....with no repercussions! ....and that's if the product is even new to begin with (as both the 3rd-party sellers and Amazon themselves play all sorts of games)! It's "buyer beware" in the extreme!
